Battlecast Primetime Cast

Raj Joshi

Raj Joshi

Long long ago, in a town that many know as Joshiville, a young man was birthed into this mad mad world. Upon entering the realm of society, this boy realized that he had a dream of doing something great. Supreme Court Justice? Quite possibly. President? Hopeful. Guest star on CHiPs, Dukes of Hazzard, or Knight Rider? Definitely!!!

I grew up watching a ton of television and slowly learning all about my new religion of commercials and bad daytime television. Entertainment seemed to have a pull on me at an early age and it felt like all I wanted to do. I immersed myself in pirated cable and Lego blocks. Music and sports quickly came to the forefront as well as acting and chainsaw juggling. Okay, not so much with the chainsaw juggling, but I did try my hand at ventriloquism for about two days.

In high school I was pretty sure that I wanted to be a movie director or a doctor. Doctors make money and movie directors... well, they actually wait tables... but I thought they made movies. I realized at my orientation at UCLA that I was never going to be a doctor, so I decided to change my major without telling anyone. I went to art classes until they adopted me as their surrogate child and then went on to do my masters in animation. While "studying" animation, I spent most of my time playing video games and realized that I wanted to create cool experiences that people could play instead of just watch. Thus making the audience the main character rather than a passive viewer.

After animating for the South Park movie (South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut), I worked at a few game companies working on all kinds of not wonderful before landing at EA Los Angeles. For the past 7 years, I’ve been working with some of the most creative and fun-loving people I could ever hope for. As a producer, my day consists of art directing, philosophical discussions about user interface, and singing as many annoying songs as I can muster. It’s truly a dream job. And, being able to work on Command and Conquer and engage with the best fans in the world is the highlight of my career.

Battlecast Primetime has really amped up my excitement about coming to work everyday. Although it’s not my main focus, it has given me the chance to give back to the community who has given so much to us. Bringing you the latest and greatest of news and matches from the realm of C&C is an honor. And, being able to travel the world to meet and entertain our many fans has been an unexpected pleasure that brings a smile to my face day after day.
