Let's kick things off with a basic overview of the new multiplayer gameplay.

BETA UPLINK PART 1 - MULTIPLAYER OVERVIEW

Command & Conquer 4 switches up the traditional skirmish gameplay by pitting GDI and Nod against each other in our new 5v5 Domination mode. Two teams of players attempt to take control of 5 Tiberium Control Network nodes scattered across the map, as well as several neutral tech structures. To capture these points, you are given control of a single, mobile base known as the Crawler, which is fully capable constructing all your units and structures on the move and deploying them directly to the front lines.

There are three classes to play per faction, each with their own unique Crawler and units - Offense, Defense, and Support. A note about your Crawler; it's your mobile base but don't panic if you're about to lose it. Losing your Crawler doesn't mean the end of the battle for you as you can quickly deploy a new Crawler at your Spawn Zone, or at an Uplink Tower you control. If the enemy is spawn camping, the joke's on them as your Crawler deploys from the skies and crushes their forces as it arrives on the battlefield!

Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, but don't worry about picking the wrong class - you can quickly switch classes during a match to fill holes in your team's overall strategy, or to counter the enemy:

The Offense class is your standard C&C hard hitting, tank heavy class. Offense excels in bringing the fight to the enemy's doorstep, pounding down the doors, and taking control of an area. Many C&C classics return to the Offense class including the Mammoth Tank, Stealth Tank, Flame Tank, subterranean units, the Nod Cyborg Commando, and some crazy new tier 3 toys!

The Defense class excels at holding ground around TCN (Tiberium Control Network) nodes or choke points. Defense brings in some classic C&C gameplay, allowing you to build structures such as defensive turrets, Obelisks of Light, long-range artillery, and more. The Defense class also allows you to make GDI Zone infantry, or Nod Cyborg infantry, and is the only class with access to the legendary Ion Cannon and Temple of Nod structures.

The Support class takes to the skies, allowing you to construct air units such as the GDI Orca to quickly advance, and support your teammates from anywhere on the map. Throughout battle, you gain access to Support powers that can be used to help your teammates and hinder your enemies. Don't underestimate the Support class as GDI players can call in a Firehawk Airstrike to bomb your Crawler into dust, while Nod can hack your radar, sowing panic and misinformation among your entire team. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Support Class Powers.

The combination of these three classes on the battlefield leads to all out war with more units than ever seen before in a C&C game, fighting for control of the Tiberium Control Network. But, the real question is, how do you win?

Capturing any of the 5 TCN towers on the map for your team begins a trickle of points towards winning the match. Having more TCN nodes than your enemy starts this trickle point effect. For example, if your team controls 2 nodes, and the enemy controls 1 node, your team will start to gain victory points. If you capture a third node, and they are still left with one, your victory points will increase even faster. It is all relative to the amount of nodes you have compared to your enemy. Note though, you will not gain victory points if your opponents have captured equal and/or more TCN nodes than you. Players must have at least one more node than the opponent to start gaining points from the TCN. Finally, killing the enemy's units will also award your team victory points, because we believe aggressive attacking domination is worthy of reward! Be sure to use your units with strategy in mind, as wasting them will award the enemy victory points, and that wouldn't be a smart move, Commander.
