Here are the things you want to know:

Is it good?
Yes

How good?
Better than Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk, not as good as the first Iron Man. I would give it an 8,5 out of 10.

And the post-converted 3D?
Not so good. I think in literally 70% of the scenes you could leave your glasses off (I did) without noticing any difference. Sometimes it looks even better without them. There's a big fight scene early in the movie in which I actually couldn't tell what the F was going on untill I took off my glasses.
I've heard that the 3D was better than Clash of the Titans (I didn't see that one, this was my first post-converted movie and I only did it because I couldn't see it anywhere around here in 2D), which makes me wonder how horrible that one must have been.
If you can view this in 2D I would seriously recommend it.

Is the end fight disappointingly short like in Iron Man?
Well, a bit, yes. I would have liked it to be longer, but oh well it's okay.

Is it bogged down by Avengers advertising like Iron Man 2 ?
Nope. Where the Black Widow storyline nearly destroys half the movie in Iron Man 2, the Hawkeye cameo in this one is very brief and doesn't interfere with the rest of the movie.

Is it worth waiting till after the credits?
Yes. It's a bit longer and better scene than the simple "sir, we've found it" that came after Iron Man 2. However it may be a bit confusing if you don't know a little bit about the comics. After you've seen Captain America you'll probably know more about what it meant though.

If you've got other questions, shoot.
I'm not going to post any spoilers though, I'll pm them if you want those.

So has anyone else seen it yet?
If so what did you think about it?

Ha, you could almost say that Clash of The Titans didn't have any 3D... there was barely any noticeable scenes with 3D elements. Anyway, thanks for the review. I'll make sure to go to the 2D version in theaters

Not seen yet but am certainly inclined to try if I find time (and possibly another one to accompany, I don't like going to theatres or restaurants alone by myself, it just feels odd).

And I do always wait until after the credits. Not doing so is disrespectful to the team that was working on the movie/game/whatever.

3D is so lame. James Cameron himself has done an about face and advises people not to waste money on 3D TV sets yet as the technology behind it is still very expensive and not very cheap.

Yeah, I mean it's not even worth the price you pay... because it's lame. :P

It's not lame if it's done right. I loved the 3D in Avatar. Computer animated movies like How To Train Your Dragon are getting it right as well. But post-converted 3D is epic fail. At first I thought that maybe it could be allright if they've spend enough time on it, but Thor did that and it still sucks. I'm still looking forward to seeing Transformers 3 in 3D because that one is actually shot in 3D.
As for the tv sets though, I don't see the point in buying them as long as there's nothing to view in 3D.

I don't think 3D is lame, but the 3D Tv sets are... that's what I meant. Compared to the price you pay and what you get it's just super lame. :P

The only 3D effects that ever really 'wowed' me as an excellent visual experience where the 3D effects of the Nintendo 3DS.

I've seen many movies in 3D and they all suck tremendously. I even saw Avatar in 3D and that was hardly any better than any other 3D movie out there.

All 3D is is an uncomfortable way to spend your time watching a feature film. It's just a complete waste of time and money. I don't understand why anyone would ever support such garbage.
