Hi, C&C Generals was the best of the C&C series for me,my friends and for a lot of players, seriously you should think to developp the next series of C&C Generals on the modern war! with a new engine, new maps, new multiplayers ladders.

I think seriously if you do it, it will be a sucess! :cool:

A quick question - why at the time was this game seen as a disaster, and now why is it univerally loved? I don't understand.

But I completely understand. Do a Modern Warfare-style approach and you can't go wrong. Give it a strong storyline too, and you are onto a winner. Remove the need for continuous online connection and I will buy. Based on C&C4, I will never again buy such a game.

At the time this game was seen as a disaster by a few fanatics, generally it sold very well and had a great reception, one of the most played C&C's to date.

It's not quite that simple Scots and to be honest I don't think the game was seen as a disaster. The issue is that you have a significant portion of the C&C fan base that is very restrictive in their definition of what C&C really is. CCG strayed away from that by using builder units instead of mcv's, by not focusing on the single player much and by not having any Tiberium in it.

So that element in some cases may have enjoyed the game (or not I'm not implying they all did by any stretch) but took significant issue with the fact the game did not fit into their definition of what C&C was to them and they were pretty vocal about it. Therein lies the perception that the game was not well received when in fact it is one of the highest selling C&C titles of all time.

I also want a new C&C: Generals, like the rest of the people who have played C&C: Generals once in their lives. I hipe it doesn't take as long as it took Blizzard to make StarCraft 2. That would be very disappointing >:-(

All got expansion packs but I agree Generals is such a hit. Fun to play even today. C&C rules the real time strategy games.

cnc 4 don't have a expansion pack, not yet anyways.

And I also hope it will be a new Generals game! :)

It was classified as failure by fans who were expecting a continuation of the tiberium universe. Not sure if there were any economic reasons. From my understanding it has become more popular if at all, is because of the fact there are many games that are getting closer and closer to "modern warfare". Well this is from my perspective and i am just one man.:cool:

I don't think it has ever been seen as a disaster from EA's standpoint. Most hardcore C&C fans hated it though since the MCV, harvesters and sidebar was gone...........................................and it was another universe. But those that love Gens now loved it back then. I can almost guarantee it.

The only place I really saw a huge backlash against it was the official forums. I found that other sites were pretty receptive to it.
