Renegade was little boring, Red Alert 1 was very strange, so I dislike both. But my vote for Renegade, it was a nice part of tiberian saga.

I didn't like Renegade's gameplay at all - both for the single player missions and online C&C mode. The story is good, but the gameplay is meh.

Red Alert 1 has been my favourite since ever. It gets my vote.

Red Alert 1 because it was the first C&C game I played. I really didn't like Renegade that much do to its gameplay being the same throughout the story. And the multiplayer got a little boring after a few play throughs.

My vote goes for Red Alert 1 as it was one of my first ever games on pc and i have realy good memories playing it i would vote for Renegade as i could as i realy enjoy it aswell there is no other FPS game that have been able to match up to Renegade in both singeplayer and multiplayer well maybe HL series.

Renegade for i to me RA1 was good but the singleplayer some missions were nere impossible to do. The renegade multiplayer online is very good as was the single that flowed smoothly.

I just want a FPS about C&C--actually, I think the RA series story is irrational, all of them.
Because most of tech in Cold war, it based on WW II. Today, no Hitler, no WW II, they had no reason researching new wargear and new tech.
That's true-- no matter the assault rifle, MBT, jet fighters and any kind of heli, if no German scientists, that weapons and science in this time, I afraid of the tech standard only in WW II.
So, I think the RA isn't good, no matter the story and mutiplayer balance. I think RA3 is fun and interest then RA & RA2.

And, I really want a FPS about C&C3 or Tiberium world, I want use the commando kill the Brotherhood of Nod and Scrin......

Renegade was fun to play while i wasnt that much into it for some reason.

Redalert was sucha alot of fun cause of me likeing the story, really really long campaign and superweapons that wasnt anywhere as threat as C&C3 superweapons.

Is this a fair vote? RA1 is a RTS while Renegade is more of a FPS with a RTS-like multiplayer.

Regardless I played both of them a lot back in the days, I'd say evenly as much. I really liked the Renegade multiplayer, it was a lot of fun. It actually required you to work as a team to defeat your enemies and if you don't like to work as a team you could still go solo on the field to kill some guys.

Red Alert 1 is my second first C&C game I played, with TD being my first. I really liked the game, it could be hard at some times but it was still doable. I end up voted for RA1, but I really loved Renegade too.

I voted Renegade, because of the innovation factor - no other FPS had done anything like C&C Mode before. Also, I must have spent hunderds of hours playing Renegade and i still do :-)

Ren was a good try, but that's about it. It simply lacks in so many points, don't like the atmosphere, story, gameplay is boring.
RA1 was simply TD with new skins, but it was a solid and fun experience and I quite enjoyed it, so it definitely wins.

Hm both of them is cool. But I vote for Renegade, becouse it became excellent mods engine for such awesome projects such as Reborn, A Path Beyond or ApocRising.
I've always wanted to see the Titan "with my own eyes," or ride on the Tesla tank, or fly over the enemy base by Kirov. And thanks to Renegade those dreams coming to life.

Renegade, easily the worst game in C&C history, (apart from Sole Survivor, but that's not really a proper game, right? And C&C4, but let's never mention that again) but it could have been so much better - there was so much potential. The single player wasn't too bad in regards to setting, atmosphere, and recognition to previous titles, but as so many reviewers rightfully stated, even at release the design, animation, and overall polish was sub-par. However the multiplayer as we all know had so much depth and innovative touches, basically being the precursor to the Battlefield series (look at that now) and my favourite component, the RTS base management. This helped not only keep the game in touch with the RTS roots, but also supply a unique FPS perspective that to me and many others was really fun.

It's a huge shame that the cause for basically all of the game's problems was the typical EA corporate rushing and lack of support conundrum. Westwood wanted to add a Nod campaign and many more elements to the multiplayer that didn't see fruition because of this.

So, the clear winner here should be Red Alert - the follow up to my favourite game of all time and the establishment of a new universe, this was really the flagship game of the Golden Era of Command & Conquer. The majority of the immediate and obvious shortcomings of the original were addressed, such as the addition of a skirmish mode, naval units, and larger maps with better multiplayer support, but basically it was so awesome because it gave the fans just more of what was established in Tiberian Dawn. C&C was all the rage at this point, with Red Alert representing it in prime form. RA definitely to win, I always say Tiberian Dawn is my favourite C&C, but to be honest I view these two games almost as one, being released so close together, being so close in all terms of design, and both being Westwood and C&C at their youthful greatest.

I voted Renegade, I played that a lot more than RA1. Whenever I played RA1 I thought, "Why am I not playing RA2 instead?" But Renegade was (and still is) a unique experience to the CnC franchise. A usually good experience at that.

Decisions decisions. I really enjoyed both games in multiplayer mode. I loved sniping people whilst jumping around dodging bullets, but I also loved spamming tanks and having huge tank battles. Two completely different genres, but I'm sure that VG had a good reason to put these two games up against each other. Since i have to choose, it's RA1 for me, but only by a hair!

another difficult poll... ra1 was my first cnc, and ren is my favourite fps

ra1 was the much more refined version of td, the expansions were kickass, campaign and atmosphere were fantastic... this is the classic cnc that has never aged for me and feels fresh even in this day. Only qualms with it are the shoddy unit balance but its never difficult to personalise with some tweaks in the .ini's :p

ren on the other hand -- truly a game that puts you into the immersive cnc world as a first person. the concept rocks, the multiplayer was a blast, and the mods that go with this game speak for themselves... this game is infact THE most moddable cnc to date.

really hard to vote, but ill (just barely) go with ra1 for its refinement for its time

Renegade would have been a good idea for turning C&C into another genre, but the immoderate sci-fi made me pain-in-the-mouse. I felt I was playing an FPS-like-StarCraft, which, somehow was named C&C. The studio could just base on the original C&C story and the weapons are at most near-future style, instead of creating a Star War movie. I just hate it.
