Hello,

I have been in touch with EA for 72 hours in a row. First they were not able to get my older C&C serials (First Decade, Tiberium Wars) to work in Origin.

Then they gave me C&C4 and BFBC2 as a refund for bad customer support. The BFBC2 works well in the Origin, but for C&C4 I always get a launcher error, preventing my game playing.

I've tried everything I can as a computer technics student, but was hoping for info. on related issues of comrade gamers.

My problem is the following in details:
- After logging to Origin, I press "Play" while hovering the mouse over the C&C4

- I get instantly a message: Launcher has stopped working.

Description: Stopped working

What am I supposed to do..? EA customer service offers no help, just the tips for a first grader to uninstall and re-install.

Thanks in advance,
Otto

First they were not able to get my older C&C serials (First Decade, Tiberium Wars) to work in Origin.

Problem Signature 09: System.IO.FileNotFoundException

As far as I know the First Decade does NOT need Origin to work. I really don't know much about Origin as I do NOT use it, but if you get your problem sorted out with this game it might also sort out your problem with Origin. As for TW I've got the disk version so there too I don't need Origin for it to work.

Have you done Windows Updates lately? Your above error may be because you do NOT have the appropriate Net Framework installed on your computer, and that may also effect your ability to install some other games that may also require that. If you have done Windows Updates, and where you may have done Updates after Updates just to get up to date. Then try this just to make sure you have this.

Try updating Microsoft .Net Framework to either 3.5 or 4.
These can be downloaded through the following links:

• Net Framework 4:

• If this fails to install, try .Net Framework 3.5:

I play TFD all the time and don't even have Origin.

Yes I do have .NET 3.5.SP1 and 4 installed.

I do not own the medias anymore and got digital copies from EA, so I have to use Origin for both the games.

At this point I think that something in your computer is stopping your computer accessing cnc4.exe as that is what the error message is saying to me, maybe because it cannot find it due to path, or the file was not written onto your drive, or something is blocking.

I assume you were running as Administrator. Next what about your Antivirus software as I have known cases of Trend Micro issues making it not work. Anyway have a read here of a previous topic and note in my antivirus image CNC4.exe and CNC4.game, well it's a thought and read what else is mentioned in the thread for it might help.

I know that is a pretty old post (and sorry for my english but ... i'm just a French guy :) ).

I maybe have a solution for you, it did work for me so it might work for others.

i went there : \Command Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight\__Installer\DISK1

right click en Autorun, Property, "compatibility" and select compatibility mode.

I have Win7

Here is a screen of what you must have.

Juste hope it will work for u if it's not already ok :)
