Subject:
A version of the Generals Challenge from Command and Conquer: Generals Zero Hour for multiplayer.

Description:
Many of us recognize the classical Generals Challenge, right? You go up against multiple other generals controlled by a CPU. You choose a general with specific subfaction attributes, and face off against the enemy commanders by assaulting their well-built (or poorly built) main base.

Now, my thought was this: Why not make this for multiplayer?
This is how it would work:

Feature 1:
Instead of going up against a CPU, you can choose to either be the offensive commander, or defensive commander. The two (or maybe more) players choose their faction, and (if there aren't any subfactions) the player playing defensive gets to choose a base (if there are subfactions, however, then the player would choose a subfaction and get that subfaction's base).

Feature 2:
Thought this could be fun for a while, eventually, fighting against a human could (potentially) get boring (depending on the type of gameplay). So, to fix that, people should be allowed to create their own multiplayer subfactions.
How it would work is this:
The player is allowed to name his faction and choose a picture from a given set to use (already preset into the game, instead of uploaded ones-we don't want any **** shots...).

Next, the player would get to choose a certain variety of units from all of the factions (yes, it could be unbalanced, but that would mainly be the player's fault-you cant have an all anti-tank army, because the enemy may throw infantry at you!)

Next, the player can color the units in his army (much like the army painter in DoW), so that the units don't look too out-of-place.

Finally, the player would choose from a list of bases that can be his/hers to defend if someone challenges the player. If the player doesn't want to choose a pre-made base, then the player can simply make their own with an in-game basic worldbuilder!
Now, this worldbuilder would have to have limits on certain things, of course, like what can be where, how many base defenses/buildings of whatever sort you can have where. And the player can choose from a list of things that gives the enemy player a chance to build up or get at them, or they could program their own.

Also, this form of multiplayer should be compatable with mods somehow. Maybe the modders can ask to have a section for people with their mod, and then VG could give them a section to use.

Positive Effects:
-More variety in multiplayer.
-The ressurection of a fun form of gameplay.
