View Full Version : Does anyone know what year timeline did RA3 happen in?

In RA1, the year was set in the 1950s.
In RA2 and YR, the year was set in 1972-1973.
So I assume that RA3 happen in the 1980s? Odd thing was that the hot characters, news casts and cartoonish effects did not appear to be modernized in the 1980s and the 1970s. I tried looking into Wikipedia for this, but found no info when the RA3 events occurred in.
Maybe in RA4, I will bet that game will be the last RA game when the cold war nearly ended.

When Cherdenko and the general went back in time, it was more or less the end of the second RA war, since the allies were close to taking Moscow. So assuming they travelled back to the same era i would say the 3rd war would actually be the towards the end of the second war, may even be the second war, but this is based off the Intro of the game.

It's after RA2, because during the aftermath of RA2, the soviets stole the Allies time machine, and they themselves started working on it.
(this part of the campaign shows up on the iphone only version Red alert, half RA2 and half RA3)
Then when they were losing, they used the time machine to eliminate Einstein who was the man who created the E=MCsquare formula, which played a huge roll in nuclear fusion. So no Nuke means it wasn't dropped on Japan, therefore there were probably no huge weapons halting the Japanese military, Japan was actually started working on Nanotech back in 1950s in real life, and in the fictional RA universe they got even more advanced and they have Mecha like units influenced by their media.
The transformers was actually a Japanese anime series, it was just made into a movie in america.

I would say that RA3 took place maybe in the 80's judging by the timeline of the other games.

I was looking that over and I'm inclined to agree with Cyb. Maybe I've hung around the TF2 Steam User's Forum too much, but my initial response was "Troll Alert", no matter how belated.
Ontopic: I'd say somewhere between 1973 and 1980, though RA3 Paradox puts its own little canon in 1969. Then again, Paradox mod.
