Increase resolution.

Nope increasing your res won't work, and most monitors have a certain limitations on the resolutions.
That is like a bug that EA made but here is a small tip by Gren from CnCLabs: http://www.cnclabs.com/forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10350

I never had this problem because my resolution > your resolution it seems.

You can use PowerStrip (http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm) to modify your monitor driver to support higher resolutions.

Mine is a laptop with 15.5 inch screen. The max stable res is 1366x758, but I have seen people with even lower res having the worldbuilder fit in their screen.

Cool, but if you have Intel HD graphics cards (which comes with most new core i processors), you can set custom resolutions. I've never tried it though, theres a warning that says it can overheat your chipset and could reduce its lifespan.
Also I am a bit concerned about my nVidia card, its usually around 70-80 C when playin RA3, if I overclock it, it could probably reach the boiling point and melt.

You should not overclock any frequencies. Just change the max. allowed resolution for the monitor. It has nothing to do with the graphics card and doesn't overheat anything.
Too bad that the old forums are gone. I had explained it more in detail there.

Well, I think changing the resoultion does atleast require bit more power from your gpu, therefore it should gain atleast a bit more temprature.
Intel HD gpus are't overclockable and they already have their own option to change their resoultion, I was just saying that when you go to the menu where you can set custom resolution, theres always this Intel Warning sign pops up and says something like "This can reduce the life span if used carelessly, overheating, other damage and can reduce stability"
My laptop has 2 graphics cards, the other one is nVidia geforce, that one automatically switches to itself when it comes to 3D gaming, and its possible to see its temp, normally its around 75 without any changes or overclocking.

Intel's onboard graphic cards can handle much higher resolutions. The limitation only comes from the display/monitor. As I said it has nothing to do with the graphics card.
As you know most laptops have a VGA output at the back where you can put a monitor on ... any monitor you want e.g. full HD. Resolution is limited by the monitor, nothing else.

Oh I see what you mean, I just tried doing the custom res stuff on the control panel.. and won't work higher than 1366x768. Just says something about invalid value.
Well it seems a lot of laptop users suffer from this problem, where the res isn't available..
Perhaps a simple way round it is to use CRL+ALT+P to pull up the Player List screen, then TAB 6 times down to the Add Skirmish Players button, then hit ENTER. TAB once more to the OK button and ENTER again.
