This is a small overview of the forum’s infraction system that helps keeping this place clean, nice and safe!

ABOUT USER INFRACTIONS
The User Infraction system is designed to automate the management of misbehaving users.

INFRACTION LEVELS
Infractions carry a point total that is awarded to users. Once a user reaches a pre-determined point level, he enters an infraction group (see below). Each infraction level has an expiration time of 12 month. When the infraction expires, the associated points are removed from the user's point total and the user's infraction groups are recalculated.

Spamming – 1 Point
Inappropriate Language – 2 Points
Flaming / Harassment – 2 Points
Inappropriate Avatar – 2 Points
Inappropriate Signature – 2 Points
Insulted Other Member(s) – 3 Points
Piracy, Hacks or Trojans – 5 Points
Pornography – 5 Points
Racism / National Hatred – 5 Points

Infractions can also be allowed to be given as warnings. A warning does not add any infraction points to the user's point total. Warnings serve as a method of reminding users of our forum's rules and encourage them to follow these rules without being awarded infraction points. Moderators have the ability to give an infraction or a warning for those levels that have the warning ability enabled.

INFRACTION GROUP PERMISSIONS
Infraction groups are set up to restrict the permissions of users.

The WARNING group is set for people who have reached 8 active infraction points. The group changes the following permissions for the user:

No Avatar allowed
No Signature allowed
Different user color
Custom user title
Can’t create polls

BANNED is for people that reach at least 10 active infraction points. This will ban the affected user from the forum. There are different ban levels:

10 active infraction points: User will be banned for 7 days
15 active infraction points: User will be banned for 1 month
20 active infraction points: User will be banned for 6 months

There also is the possibility for users to receive a permanent ban which never expires. Special circumstances that warrant imminent action (for example: infractions in quick succession, disruption of the peace of the forum) allow moderators to ban users for a limited amount of time at their own discretion. The creation of a duplicate account to either circumvent a ban or to continue banworthy behavior will result in all accounts associated with that user being banned.
