Please help!!!! I have just bought the PcDvD for C&C 4. When installing the game I have had several problems, eg with the 'core1.cab' 'core5.cab' 'core7.cab' being corrupt. I have uninstalled the gamme and started again several times. Each time it has been a different 'cab'.

I have now managed to install and log in to EADM, it starts downloading patches and I now have an 'error applying patch-staticstream.big' (Previously it was error with FrenchAudio.big) Can anyone help? I am getting soooo frustrated.

MS Windows 7 Professional
Intel Core 2 Quad
CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz
4 Gig RAM

So you downloaded the game in the end? Or you installed it from the cd?

It sounds like your data is corrupted. Possibly a bad write on the cd, dirty/smudged/damaged cd, or your cd drive is dirty/damaged/worn.
Make sure you check both the CD and drive.

If you can, redownload it through the EADM, without using the net at the same time, like overnight, as that should guarantee a clean data set.
Same with the patch.
Often is the internet is in use while downloading, the download stream can be interrupted, corrupted or delayed, and that will often cause issues.

Let us know how you go.

if you so much as sneeze while EADM is downloading- your install data gets corrupted. Do as Elearen has suggested

It eventually did it from the DvD. I haven't downloaded from EA. If I did do that would I need to uninstall the DvD version first?

Now I have a different error!!!!!! When I log in etc and press play I get "Game Crash<<<Did you remember to build data???>>>
WTF!!!!!!! Any ideas (btw I am not a tec geek, so pls keep answers simple lol)

that build data error iirc was a Mac error for previous games. I will have to have a look into this, and see if i can find any solutions they found on MacOS
