As title says, what's your favorite resource which you can either harvest or collect?
Is it the infamour and poisonus Tiberium, green or blue?
Red Alert's classic Ore, diamonds, or maybe Ore Nodes?
Perhaps Generals' Supply Docks?
And of tech buildings that give you resources every once in a while, Tiberium Spike, Oil Derricks, or one of the many game shops in Red Alert 3?

Tiberium is my favorite. Red Tiberium, to be precise. Why does everyone always forget about the Red Tiberium?!

Maybe add something totally new? As example - take resources from covered ground (like in Perimeter RTS), or maybe good old tiberium fields, but with some cool game mechanics? Maybe tiberium speed will be extremely high, so tiberium after some time will cover all map. You must collect more tiberium for more ground for your base. Of you will do nothing, then tiberium will growth your base and you can't build infantry and buildings.

Tiberium. It wasn't just a resource, it was a hazard with it's own back story. I can't think of any other RTS that gave so much thought and story into the resource you were to collect :P
Which makes it even more devastating to see it reduced to a shiny hat that floats over your head.

Tiberium. I like the way the economy is somewhat regulated with the supply docks from the Generals universe but Tiberium adds so much to the storyline not to mention the healing of certain units and the damaging of others, etc.
Tiberium is more that just a resource......
As to the tech buildings I loved all the resource augmenting tech buildings to the point of failing in many, many matches because I had to OWN them all!

Valve should totally give a tib crystal hat for TF2 for cnc4 purchases on steam, this way people would buy cnc4 :p

Yes Tiberium is more that just a resource...... It can arm weapons and make them more potent. A catalyst missile could be used to detonate Tiberium, and you could have Liquid Tiberium weapons. One could even use Tiberium to seed an area then harvest it. The Overlord's Wrath could even seed an larger area with Tiberium and it could be used as a larger weapon. Maybe in the next game we might again see the Overlord's Wrath but using Blue and Red Tiberium and raining down all over the place.

No red tiberium, since it doesn't exist, nor does the non game that you think that thing comes from.

my favorite ressource is Tiberium (green + blue), of course.
i like it to harvest ressources from a field and using tech buildings like Oil Derricks and Tiberium Spikes, as a secundary source of income.
Red Tiberium, to be precise. Why does everyone always forget about the Red Tiberium?!
RED Tiberium?
i thought that red Tiberium crystals were used in CnC 4 just for adding 5 upgrade points and were not meaned to be a natural form of Tiberium.

That was different Red Tiberium.
Red Tiberium was in Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. It's extremely rare, extremely explosive and extremely valuable. Tratos had a sample of it and was doing studies on it. However, it's secrets were lost when Nod assassinated him.

Tiberium because of the history behind it, the healing and damaging effects, you can detonate blue tib and it has an actually purpose in the storyline compared to most other RTS.
I like oil derricks the most...don't know if it's the ones from RA2 or Gens I like most though.

Nope, red tiberium appears in Tiberian Sun. I think the first is in the fourth NOD mission where you blow up Hassan or whatever that traitor's name is. Its supposed to be an easter egg to Dune where people called it tiberium spice. It appears in a percentage on some maps or is scripted into missions. And for the fun of it, Blue description too!!
Blue tiberium appears in Tiberian Sun as a resource where a massive amount of green tiberium eventually forms into a 10 feet tall monolith called Tiberium Vinifera. These mutated crystals have more mettalic usage for tanks and such but are heavily unstable and can blow up.
Tiberium Riparitus is the green cystal we all love. And..... if you played tib. dawn you would know. Tiberium Aboreous is another type of blue tiberium but has undergone a more... mutated state of evolution, resulting in a more unstable compound but more valuable (can be detonated even with harvesters running over them).
And for the people who want to know more im gonna name all the scripted tiberium/percentile.
Orange tiberium!!! which is used in Kane's tiberium orange juice. This type is extremely rare even gaining myth status because if you played 100 games, you probably wouldn't of even noticed this type. Its approximately 4x the worth of blue tiberium/ (around 4000 credits) but is so rare.... its scripted to automaticlly detonate. If you have never seen this type, look online and download a pirated version of tib. sun. Orange was supposed to be cut but in the pirated versions, modifications occured and it now exists. (Unconfirmed if pirates stole the data for this) The only place where I found this type is in a random skirmish match in tib. sun vanilla, no patches.
Tiberium Cruentus is yet another type of blue tiberium which is very rare to harvest. It looks blue but it isn't. It's dark blue!!. Like orange, it is scripted to automaticlly blow up but with the exception of sending thousands of tiberium shards to the battlefield creating new small tiberium fields.
If you want to know more go to the www.cnc.wikia.com and type in tiberium.

Theres games of Dune and movie and a tv series called children of dune and they are remaking the original movie aswell so its not just book.
Also remember that Dune 2 had spice and it came befor TD.

Slavik an interesting name. It appears that you might not know or maybe forgot about the Red Tiberium in Tiberium Sun Firestorm, and which some here already have mentioned. I liked playing all the C&C games and I remember. :)

Red Tiberium i think is more from RA, given there was Ore to mine and i tihnk Crystals, might of been TD given tiberium and then colored tiberium deposits for more value. Each release i think eventaul had two seperate resources to mine. One more a bonus resource then another. One had a red crystal or ore though. Dont think they have a seperate of just them..like red crystals and blue, green, and maybe ore or tiberium . Be nice in a way given that would add to main resource by instances of three instead of two.

Third based resource to harvest might be interesting. Think some games have made a mission aside based off the idea..while continuing later with when the use comes to in play.

Nah, on the mission where you start off with limpet drones and have to sneak in the base to kill Tratos, there's a red/orange crystal next to Tratos.

The only thing special was that Germany has 2 versions of TW. One was 18+ the other 16+. In the 16+ version Fanatics didn't blew themselves up but had a run away death animation because politicians here say the other one is too bad to be shown to 16+ teens. Other stuff is naming like renaming the Nuclear Missile to Aurora Missile and renaming every location to a fictional name so it has less real world relevance.
Maybe he thought of this late alpha/early beta screen:

Only way to do it right is the Generals way.
Why?
- Resources are defendable and attackable!
- No stupid harvester lol bashing
- They dont suck up half the map
Anyways i hope they are not going to make resource collection C&C3 style... was ttly rediculous build 10 tanks/second with 1 harvester. Kinda played that game a whole day before I boxed it, still playing Generals though. It just did everything right!

Red Tiberium DID exist, so did purple. Its in Tiberian Sun and if you were familiar with the canon you would know this.
The Evolution Pit was so interesting, i'd like to see a new Tiberian game take place in a earth covered with places like that.

Later RAs were nice in terms of Ore and Harvesting.
Think Tiberium might find its place to gain additional interest of use within a release. Rather any additional concepts or ideas take hold. Given there are a few RTSs out there, um what isnt really been in release yet to say for harvesting or mining collecting is about anyones guess really.

Does it really matter? Today all versions of C&C4 have Red Tiberium as seen here and if there are any future games in the Tiberian Universe then we might see Red Tiberium again.
