Hi all, as you can see im new here.
Anyway, having seen the C&C generals 2 trailer the other day i thought it would be wise to dig the old games out and get back into C&C. Managed to find both standard and deluxe editions! Win.
Upon inspection i am missing disc 1 out of standard and disc 1 out of deluxe is slightly scratched, (2 of course is fine as always). Anyway upon trying to install the game i get the error that it cannon find the language.cab file, the rest of the disc reads fine and this is the only thing it is stuck on. Ive tried the normal things, toothpaste, bannana peel, extremely fine sandpaper and car wax to no avail. is there any way i can sort this?

Well i joined and posted here in the hope that useful comments and advice would be posted, but obviously not...the fact that ive been trying to buff out the scratch marks on the protective plastic of the CD with P6000 (yes 6000 not a typo) sandpaper to try and get the disc to read. I have tried again since trying this and got the same thing, i.e the disc will read apart from the language folder speech/english.big file. If i load the cd and explore it though my computer i get all the files come up on it and visible apart from the one listed above, this is my problem.
