Who played on westwood online in the ladders way back when ?

I did as puzzabug. I got up to the top 500 players in aftermath, and #47 aftermath ally.

I know that's not super amazing, but for bein' only 13, that's kinda sweet.

I'd drop mines which would clear out the tanks, and then use my own tanks or chrono tanks to clean up their bases. The feeling you get when the enemies send a massive tank force and don't know they're going to lose everything in a mine field is the best feeling I've ever had in a computer game ever. It's amazing - second only to seeing all their tanks blow up on my super huge micro managed minefield.

Regrettably I did not. I discovered C&C kind of late with Tib Sun and my only experience with the original RA was prior to the RA2 release I played a few skirmishes (and had fun!) just to check the RA universe out for myself before buying RA2.

I did back in the day. Regrettably I was an early adopter of C&C: Sole Survivor as well.
