View Full Version : Game Mode missions mode in free for all multiplayer wars

Description:
In this mode as soon as the game starts each player gets a mission (like in the board game risk). for example 'destroy blue army' or 'capture a certain building' or 'conquer a certain player's spot regardless that player's army that was in it is destroyed or not'. Once a mission is complete, the game ends with one winner. players gotta get on with their mission fast. and not only focus on their mission but if they guess that another player's mission is to destroy the red army for example, they're gonna want to protect the red army's last building from that player. If the red army loses the game is over with one winner.

Positive effect:
New type of game play that requires a strategy based on the mission rather than the normal strategy of destroying all enemies.

Negative effect:
It can only be played in free for all wars with more than 2 players. It can be played in teams but has to be more than 2 teams. If its ony 2 players or 2 teams then they'll just destroy each other.

this isnt exactly new they did something simmilar in BFME 2 .. it was somewhat poor in popularity though i found it to be interesting.. it was just too long to play often.

yeah? i never heard of it. was the idea bad or the execution? because in the zero hour online games, the 1v1v1v1v1v1 are very popular. i still play. the missions mode idea could spice it up a little. you say it was too long in BFME 2 but the missions should make the game shorter not longer. in fact one of the cons could be that it will make it too short. 1v1v1v1v1v1 takes 5 defeats to end the game. if u have a mission, u can finish as fast as a 3 minute rush.

I think missions mode will be interesting , but with a more sinister aproach. I think you should be rewarded money after killing a certain amount of units , or maybe you get free reinforcements when you lose a certain amount of building ( in value , otherwise people will be spamming PP in middle o f map -_- ) . I think this should be interesting in that way.

Things that could earn you a reward :

1. Killing a certain amount of enemies
2. Destroying a certain amount of buildings
3. Gathering a certain amount of resources
4. Havin a high K/D ratio
5. Controling a certain amount of points on the map ( not necesaraly captured building and such , but just havin units stationed there could be enough reason you control that area.
6. Controlling a certain amount of the map ( I think areas you control would be where you have entered but you enemy hasnt in a certain amount of time.

There should be no way of winnig the game before destroying the enemy. Just things that help you achieve your goal :D
