  • Should I pre-order RIGHT now?

    #1
Ugh!!! Why do they give us the option this far in advance!
    The positives:
I have the comfort of having had pre-ordering Generals 2 this early.

    The negatives:
What if something happens and Generals 2 isn't released?
What cool goodies do I get for ordering RIGHT now?
What if I don't have a computer capable of playing it by the time it is released?
It's an Origin pre-order and not on Steam.

So yes, help me make up my mind.

Well I pre-ordered it at my local GameStop, don't the problem with just pre-ordering it now since if you don't want it at all down the line you can just cancel

      4 negatives, 1 positive. What's the problem?

I would never pre-order something I have no idea about, and Generals 2 is still a mystery. Plus, your positive isn't really worth it - you have no advantages if you pre-order now or later. Chill it with the hype, there is still one year to go.

Its CnC... so 99% of people who visit this site will buy it. Especially since CnC4's failure.

Really? I thought 99% of the people that visit this site come here, complain "EA is evil. EA killed C&C. Bring WestWood back." yadda yadda yadda....

I've got it on pre-order at the moment. At the worst, if I don't think I'll like the game (or can't afford it, or can't have a new pc built by release) I can always cancel the pre-order.

Yeah, but times have changed. Now they shout: "AGM is evil... yadda yadda yadda..."
Hmm... guess not so much has changed after all. Trolls stay trolls.

Generals has a totally different audience then the classic C&C games, so one can't really say how many will actually buy the game. As for me, I'm waiting until I see some actual game quality game footage until I'm ready to pre-order. Hell, I'll wait for the beta if I have no choice.

I am probably going to end up preordering a copy at my local GameStop, but I will probably only put $5 down so that way if anything happens I won't have spent $50 on it month's before it was released.

There is ZERO point to pre-ordering. It's not like they are going to run out of copies. If EA was smart, they would give you $10 credit towards DLC content if you pre-order now. This would encourage people to pre order, and if the game turns out to be garbage, then that $10 credit won't get applied to the DLC anyway since the person most likely will have stopped playing by then.

Wait for pre-order Bonuses. Mappacks, Skinpacks, DLCs. There's no point in it otherwise.

Yeah, I only ever pre-order when bonuses are officially announced, and the collector's edition(s) are all sorted out. Doing it now just complicates things.

If Origin is the only mean of pre-ordering here where I live, I don't pre-order, I buy the DVD version.

Generals 2 is using DirectX 11, I think, and it does not support Win XP, so you have to get Vista or 7, 7 is recommended.
See both minimum and recommended system requirements here http://wiki.generals2.org/index.php?...m_Requirements

Pre-order it one month before release. Then you can decide which preorder bonus you want.

Seriously? If they really make this into a Mass Effect thing I will boycott the game. Retailer exclusives are retarded. And don't get me started on paid day one DLC.

This goes against everything I believe in as a human being. Mass Effect 3 is a no-no for me.
