Realistic? Sure..ishOriginally posted by [W]in^9X^ View PostTo look like the game more realistic and difficult
Difficult...how?
Bear in mind that just about every RTS known to man has some sort of persistant bodies threshold...unless it does something it's just useless extras that need to be rendered.

mmm ok.
I spam 100 tanks
All get blown up.
My Game slows down to a crawl.
Not really a good thing IMO.

Keep the vehicles on the map and have a scrap-vehicle unit to pick and and cash in the left overs?

^ we already have the gla scrap system for that? And "keeping the vehicles on the map" will just slow down the game too.

If it's just cosmetic, a graphic option is fine.
If there are gameplay implementations (cover, block access, ect ect), then there needs to be a set default value for the level of persistent wreckage. An option to set the length for custom games would work as well, but there would need a default value built for the lowest graphic settings.

didn't generals have that "dynamic detail" like option? then there's the particle/object sliders too, that might help.

Yes, it did, which is perfectly fine for cosmetic options. My concerns with the OP's post...especially about it being more 'difficult' is that there would be some-sort of gameplay mechanic based around them. The worst thing would be to make debris actual-world objects that block paths and units while being an exclusively graphic option.Originally posted by stormgear View Postdidn't generals have that "dynamic detail" like option? then there's the particle/object sliders too, that might help.
