  • Story Tiberium VS Red Alert

    #1
    Subject:
Combination of tiberium and red alert univerce

    Description:
Since the last few cnc games the story has gone lots of different ways leaving many un-answered questions. So i think it would be good to bring it back into one.
Anyone who has beaten Red Alet 1 saw that kane was behind it, so maybe the scrin portal actually crossed into the Red Alert univerce? so i was thinking if the story could end up with the Soviets and NOD joining forces and so do the Allies and GDI, making more powerfull weapons and giving you 2 different ways to harvest resources. The ore ports from Red Alert 3 and the open fields of tiberium in C&C 3. So now you have 4 teams battling it out. GDI and Allies could be trying to close the gate returning the worlds to normal, or kane, now being the leader of NOD and Soviets, ending up currupting the worlds and become a God. Maybe have so tratory in there too

    Positive Effect:
Continues the story and finaly get to see which univerce is better

    Negative Effect:
more teams could take longer to complete and navy units would have to be made for GDI and NOD to keep it even. Also may change the gameplay too much

I disagree, it would cause HUGE changes to the previous stories. Interesting idea, but i think it might just go a little too far if you know what i mean.
BTW, are they making a tiberium game or what? does anyone have any clues about the next game?

Keep the universes separate because that is what they were made for. To visit different era's of war and to have a variety in the factions.
Joining them would make the story all messed up.

And Westwood wanted to do something like this by having a game where Yuri is actually from the Tiberium universe and while Nod is attacking Area 51. GDI activates a old Allied Chronosphere and Yuri is sent to the RA universe. But that game was cancelled when EA shut Westwood down.

        Really?
        had no idea....

I'd support a merge, but would be hard.

The main thing is that it would take alot of time to develop and trying to figure out the story might get confusing.

yeh it would be very complicated and take a lot of time, but i do like the idea of more teams. maybe they could bring back scrin and also have CABAL as a playable fraction? And what happend to the tiberium monsters and tiberium vains from tiberian sun? i liked them

Started to quote before saw all of your text, but yeah you are right, they wanted to merge them, ra2/yuri was first spin off and was supposed to get merged in story but EA took care of that. Now we have command and conquer spin offs thanks to ea

this is a good idear on how to link the two series back together however i dont think EA would ever try it, and if they did and it didnt get good reviews it wouldent just destroy one franchise it would destroy two franchise. which would have a huge negetive impact on the cnc title. i would love to see these two unerverses collide in an epic story but i think the stakes are just too high for that to happen.

Frankly, I prefer the two series to be separate. Even TD and RA are quite different in tone, ever since RA2 and TS the separation has pretty much been set in stone. Merging them would probably cost both their defining features.

I disagree. DON'T do spin-off's. The tiberium en red alert universe are meant to be seperate, they won't go well together.

So, basically: Nod versus GDI versus Allies versus Soviet Union... cool idea! I support it. Sounds like many units and many different alliances, lots of chaotic Epic battles!

With the restriction that a game like this would be fun but only if produced as a stand alone special sort of thing (where most of the emphasis would be on the skirmish), but not as a reboot of the series (where most of the emphasis would be on the campaign).

Right now, a reboot of the series (returning to solid basic gameplay) is what C&C needs most. So this idea should not be the priority right now (but who knows next year or thereafter).

Also there are Red Alert fans who have never played Tiberium or Tiberium fans who have never played Red Alert and would be completely confused, and be at an enormous dis-advantage as they would have to adapt to the new factions. But it would be cool if there were more factions in Red Alert.

Some people may say that it would be difficult to merge the RA Series and the TW Series, but there is a possibility. The TW series started with a tiberium saturated meteor that crashed in Italy in the year 1995. It landed in the Tiber river and thus the substance was called tiberium. Since the two main factions are GDI and NOD, there isn't a third agressor until Firestorm. As Nod fell apart and was divided up, Cabal took over and raised a cyborg armyto attack both factions in which both had to work together and take him out. Then The scrin finally arive as they become the new agressor and are involved in the tird tiberium war.

In the RA series, You have two alternate timilines between the Soviets and the Allies. Instead of Gewrmany being the agressor, Russia becomes the new aggressor. then in RA2, Yuri becomes the new agressor and becomes the enemy of both the Soviets and the Allies. Then in RA3, the timeline changes and the same thing happens, but the third agressor is Japan. In both cases, the soviets and allies join to take out the third faction. Now since the timeline has been altered again in RA3, both the Allies and the Soviets have become technologically advanced that not only can they alter time, but there is room for more advancements. Im pretty sure that RA3 leaves off sometime during the 40's or 50's, but if anyone could tell me the year it leaves off at, it would be helpful for the direction that I am going with this. Anyway, since the RA series ends before the beginning of the TW series, and that the timeline has been alternated twice, there is a possibility of linking the two that way if you wanted to link them that way.

Basically you would have an alternate tiberium wars and the next Red alert if you wanted to mix them that way. You would definatly have more than 3 factions given that in RA3 you have the Soviets, Allies, and Japan. With the introduction of tiberium either faction could divide up or combine based on what there beliefs would be after discovering and learning about tiberium. But since in the Tiberium series, GDI is a untied world power, GDI would cease to exist. Im not sure how NOD would come into play but im sure it would't exist as NOD, but as another alternate faction or more. Thats my way of possibly combining the RA series and the Tiberium series. But I would agree with most people when they say that the two shouldn't mix. Afterall, they are two separate universes with different storylines that can't be that easily mixed in the way I explained it.
