  • Game Feature More Random options.

    Subject:Additional random options

    Description:
Additional random options for skirmish and multi-player.

    1. In the event that the Jukebox returns random music alternatively known as the shuffle function.

2.The ability to randomly select from any map, or randomly select from official maps only, or more specific random 1v1, 2v2, 3v3,4v4, etc. maps.

3.In the event that sub-factions make a comeback, or they bring in custom sub-factions, or custom Generals/Commanders(an old suggestion of mine:more or less characters created by the player who run there own custom sub-factions) the ability to randomly select between them. (Generic example KW: Random Nod, Random, GDI, Random Scrin, Random Nod and GDI, Random Scrin and Nod, etc.)

4.If more game modes are added to the game Random options that allow you to select game modes randomly.

    5.Return of Random Map generator

Anything else I missed that people think would be cool.

    Positive Effect:
More options that allow you to make specific choices that allow you to get rid of undesirable conclusions, yet still keep things fresh, interesting and not entirely controlled.
A more refined sub-faction system (In the event that the game has one)
Easy to make choices when you are having a hard time choosing maps, sub-factions, etc.
    Negative Effect:
More options that potentially risk clutter if the development team is really that bad at keeping menus organized.
Frustration from people that detest random.

The purpose of this picture is to give an example of what I mean for number 3 from a game that did something similar.

This one is to give an example for number 4 only with a random option added.

This is the RMG from TS and RA2 in case anyone is unfamiliar with the Random Map Generators.

It would help create some different gameplay if there was a random map generator. Having it would help keep players interested by playing on a different map than the ones that came with the game.

I got an option for you its called being able to play the game without needing a disc just like Supreme Commander or Starcraft. I'm just saying because sometimes the DVD drive gets rusty.

You don't need a DVD to run games that happened after Zero Hour C7, only to install them. And if games before that bother you so much by needing a disk just get a crack.

Random map generator is a must have. But I can understand why they don't want to make one.

The way I see it, there are two types of multiplayer games in C&C: tournament and strategic.

Tournament type games are held on maps where the layout is mirrored or thoughtfully balanced between each player so that each has an equal chance at victory.

Strategic type games are held on maps that were not specifically catered for gameplay. Achieving victory means you have to first learn the land and scout rather than simply following a pre-thought out build order and rushing your opponent. Each player has to work with what they are given... and what they are given may not be balanced between players evenly (some might have more open terrain while others may have more resources, for example)

A random map generator would result in strategic matches rather than tournament matches since there really isn't a fair way for the computer to generate a map that is 'fair' to each side... at least not in a way that is easy to program.

I personally prefer strategic games to tournament games.

That would be awesome, not exactly random related but awesome nonetheless.

It would, I doubt it will happen but it would.

If you buy digitally that's kinda a given. As for being able to play once installed using a disc, they've been doing that since RA3 right? I don't think you have to worry sir. But I concur anyway.

I know but I still want to play Zero Hour and I mentioned this because of another game wasn't working.

TFD Patch 1.03 removes the need for the disc for all the games on it as well. Sorry for offtopiciness.
