  • Game Feature The Main Menu Theme Should Change Depending on What Faction You Are Using The Most

    #1
    Subject:
The main menu's look should change according to what faction you are using the most.

    Description:
Well over time, having the same main menu look will get boring. So the next CnC should change it's main menu theme. For example: If you are a GDI player, you should have a GDI themed interface, and if you are a Nod player, you should have a Nod themed interface. The same goes to the other factions depending on what universe they are going to make.

    Positive Effect:
Makes your main menu more tasteful.

    Negative Effect:
    Can't think of anything really.

Not bad, but I don't mind seeing the same menu over and over again, after all that's not the whole game. Generals style shellmap would be great to see again.

A good Idea, however, I prefer random themes, just to keep it interesting. I shouldn't relying on what faction you use most. Cause I don't use factions, I just play "random". Random faction against random opponents. That's a real challenge.

Different Menu Themes is a cool idea, it help in keeping the game fresh. Another thing I would like is that they bring back a fancy installer like those on Red Alert 2 and earlier games I find the one in RA2 very alive giving you "30 seconds to comply" and a briefing like if you were a real commander starting the system up. Unfortunately, even if I think it would not be very hard or time consuming to do, it is just eye candy, we ask for it in other games and they ignore it so I dont think it will happen now...

I really like the idea, you can have amazing backgrounds like:

Allied: view America/Washington from the sky
Soviet: view Moscow and the Kremlin from the sky
Japan: view some beautifull Japanese landscape with Japanese structures

GDI: view the battlefield with GDI units riding by
Nod: view the Temple of Nod, or also a battlefield
Scrin: view the space with Scrin units flying by!

It's an idea, and there isn't really anything wrong with it. It's just a cool, basic feature that can't harm anyone. Also, it would make people feel awesome if they were to unlock a bonus campaign (say, the Scrin campaign).

I just remember of the Source Valve games like Half-Life 2 and Portal, the main menu changes as you progress in the game so when you start the game you know where in the story you are, I find this very cleaver.

Oh yeah, it's pretty interesting like that. Minor, yet interesting.
I love how, once you finish Portal 2, you have Wheatley floating around in space...

That's a good idea, variety is a plus. Building off the Generals theme, you could have alternating shell maps, but have it represent whichever faction you last used or were victorious with. Or, what would be really cool is if they made some way to record your previous victory highlights using some script and the replay feature. Then that recording could be used as the background for the main menu! But that may be wishful thinking, considering time and budget constraints.

Yeah, I was thinking about this for RA3, but instead of it picking for you, you pick the style.

I am all for variety but I think this is the wrong way to do it. In my case, if this were Red Alert 2 for example my theme would change a bit the first few weeks but then it would be all allied, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

Hey MarkedofDave nice collection but what about the Allies?‎ They dont like music (he he) or they go with HellMarch?

The Idea of having different theme for different fraction selected is very good and unique. But I also hope they would add some mini scene as a background like in Generals 1 and Zero Hours. Hope they add it inside the game to make it better rather then some static pictures and stuff like that.
