  • Game Mode Civilian Rescue Co-op Mission

    #1
    Subject:
Civilian Rescue Co-op mission for online multiplayer.

    Description:
It is widely agreed that playing co-op missions with your friends can be a lot of fun. This idea is just a suggestion to get the wheels turning.

To begin, the EU faction (and possibly the third unannounced faction) could have a co-op mission that involves rescuing/evacuating civilian refugees. The players would have a time limit (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, etc.) to get as many civilians to an evacuation point as possible.

To do this, the players could have a specific transport truck that automatically loads up civilians when it is near them. The players then have to escort the transport truck safely to an evacuation point. Along the route, the players will be continually harassed by a plethora of GLA forces (AI with varying levels of difficulty) that are seeking to destroy the transport trucks.

Furthermore, the evacuation point could be an airfield or a shipyard, in which the civilians unload from the trucks and are transported off the map by an appropriate vehicle (naval vessel, aircraft, train, etc.)

Finally, a score will accumulate that is based upon the number of civilians rescued by each player, and then a total score for the team of players. Subsequently, there could be a small reward for gaining a certain score for rescuing civilians (humanitarian battle honor possibly). The score could also be used in an on-line, leader-board type set up that shows the top 10 (or 50) high scores for civilian rescue.

    Positive Effect:
-Will keep players coming back to play the game, especially if there is rewards for such a mission.
-Possibly more engaging than just playing through an entire co-op campaign; this could be a few stand-alone missions included with a game mode.
-It's always fun to play with friends in a co-operative way.
-Fun way to incorporate a naval vessel, a train; or a large, fixed-wing, transport aircraft.

    Negative Effect:
-Complicated to create the parameters for the maps.
-Complicated AI scripting required to make the missions challenging and fun.

who knows what might happen in the future.
