its no secret that the majority of the C&C community are now adults and amongst oldschool gamers in general Command & Conquer is more synonymous.
every Command & Conquer universe is established as fairly gritty, semi realistic and since we can expect another Generals or reimagining of Command & Conquer its rather obvious that for those two universes or any universe its better to move on into a slightly more mature, more gritty and violent direction.
sure it doesnt ad up much to the gameplay, but look for example at Company of Heroes, sure that game is simply based on World war II but that doesnt destract from the fact that in this game the gritty realism and violence give it an extra umph to make all that iressistable.
i dont expect a gorefest F bomber, but i believe Command & Conquer can confidently move on to Mature. Immersion is part of any game, even an RTS.
