  • Question to EA_Cire regarding Red Alert 2 freeware

    Is Red Alert 2 going to be officially free by EA soon or wait until Red Alert 4 (or some new C&C game) is released? It's been over 11 years of Red Alert 2 and there's no sign of a new C&C freeware version none other than Tiberian Sun, Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1. There had been threads in the older C&C forums discussing about this, but there had been no responses yet from EA.

    but yeah, sure could use this as freeware too.

          C&C 4? is it really still high a year+ since the game came out..!?
          or You mean the good flames that will be after the new C&C game announce?

              Why would they even do that? i dont get it?

              They give us freeware for nice gestures of the other games and thats not enough for you? next yourll be asking for Red Alert 3 and Tiberium Wars for free.

              The game is like £2 go and buy it yourself :S..

                    Well Ra2 and CnC 2 had the same graphics, and Cnc 2 is free so why can't Ra2 be free?

                    No one is buying Ra2 these days, its not like they would care to buy.

                          RA2 = freeware. Wouldn't mind that.
                          Though, not much hurry for me. I've already got the whole collection of CnC. Sadly that includes CnC4. :/

                            Guys chill... ALL he asked for was information regarding whether RA2 would be available for free or not. And based on the pattern, it's easy to see why.

                            On the other hand though, an issue I have is that the more games that they release for free, the more redundant TFD becomes.

                              You can't just flip a switch and magically RA2 becomes Freeware. Some Legal mumbo jumbo must be solved first before any game can go free. A lot of red tape has to be worked out first.
