  • Skirmish and Multiplayer options for upcoming C&C game

    #1
This has been asked a hundred times for the previous games, but it would be nice to see a wide set of options for skirmish and online multiplayer matchmaking.

Superweapons on/off, protocols/powers on/off (If any), no rush timer (Off by default, but availble to those who want it) and so on..

Another cool option would be an induvidual unit limitation
(OFF BY DEFAULT, but can be turned on) that would prevent each player from building more than X of the same units to prevent unit spam and force the player into using a more varied set of units.

Another cool thing, related to match customization is game modes. Like in TS and RA2, we should have different game modes to bring some variety to the game.

    Any other ideas? Post them?

I think there should be similar options as in Red Alert 2:

    - Cash amount 10 000 - 40 000
    - Superweapons on/off
    - Starting units 0-10
    - Build off ally Con Yards
    - All mighty TECH LEVELS!!! Or Tiers, as in new C&C games...

Also, there should be in-game map generator, as in Tiberian Sun and RA2:

    - Weather: Snowstorm, Sunny, Rainy...
    - Ion Storms on/off
    - Map size
    - Amount of AI players
    - Amount of resources
    - Amount of cities, forests, water areas, etc.

EDIT: And I almost forgot: Atmosphere in map generator, either arctic, urban, temperate, desert, and some more

EA made a map generator for Battleforge, so they don't have the "but we cant cuz its 3D" excuse anymore.

True, and an unofficial map generator for Red Alert 3 was released by a random codefreak-fan, so yeah...

That one sucked balls cuz of the textures but the BF one apparently used pre made bits of terrain then just bunched the bits together. Worked fine tho

In reality any type of map generator is better than nothing at all, and it adds all kinds of replay value.

As long as it can be done well, I wouldn't have a problem with a map generator.

And yea, I hated in Tib Wars you could hardly change any settings.

^Good, the MCV thingy was a nice idea IMO

If ore nodes were to be reused, an option for how much ore would be nice. But only if they'd use the ore node concept... which I doubt... and hope not.

It may be room for other resource options tho..

Here are some I saw in other games:

-Option to determinate lethality, going from 25% to 200% damage output.
-Building and construction and economy gathering speed going from 25% to 200% damage output.
-Economy income, from x0.5 to x3 of its normal value.
-Turn on/off popcap 50-250 per player, that may add an interesting twist in strategy.

With these settings you can customize the next C&C to turn into a Dawn of War 2, a Supreme Commander 2, or more classic C&C.

                          Lets see,those are a must
                          Superweapons on/of/limited
                          game speed option
                          start money (5000-50000)

and the more options the better,so i agree with what you guys said here.
it won't do anybad if we have a lot of options, will it?

                          here is an idea:
tech level start, select the tech level you want the game to begin with, for example select "tier 2",and you will start with a nice small base which has all buildings up to the tier2 building.
