  • One Major Forum Issue

    #1
I would like to address the log-in issue many of us are experiencing (or have had experience with).
I know this has been addressed in other topics, particularly the Forum Fixer-Upper thread started by =LEVIATHEN=. However, nothing has been done about it. As you may (or may not) have noticed, but I have been completely absent from the forums for a few months. Why? Because the system would not let me log-in. As a community member, this is very aggravating and rejecting. Why should I try to be a member of this community when the dedicated forum will not even let members log-in? If they do not have working forums, then why should I care about it? Why should I try to be involved?

This is a deterrent for new members especially and defeats the purpose of having a community in the first place.

Something needs to be done about this.

It's just a testament to how EA handles everything. Sloppy delivery and no support after the first year

Law of conservative EA forum fail. Unfortunately the old forums are gone so I can't get the original thread but it goes something like this:

"EA forum fail can neither be created nor destroyed, only changed from one form to another."

Although I wasn't at the old, old forums I've heard embedding videos didn't work, in the old forums there were no avatars and here there are login troubles and the smilies suck. It's a law of nature. There is nothing we or they can do about it.

If we can't break nature's law, we have to break nature and replace it so we can dictate new laws. Easy peasy.

I call for a total forum reformation!

I was talking to our web team every once in a while and they are always asking for "what are the user specs"

So i need your OS and browser please Once i got a bigger bunch here that cannot login, i can actually task the web team with it.

Windows 7 32 bits. Currently using Chrome but it doesnt work for all the other brwosers installed (IE, Firefox and Opera last versions).
But why don't the devs do the test themeselves on their machines ? Are they just too lazy ??? I mean it's such an obvious and significant problem that has been discussed for moths in many topics and still not a single update

Windows 7 32 bit. I use Chrome (sometimes IE when I can't log in w/ Chrome).

I'm not one to answer this (he says as he replies), but I think that that is CIRE's job.

                        Yes, I currently use a work-around, but it's annoying.

You mean go to a random thread and click "reply with quote" to log in?

Yep. For new members, it can be very destructive to the community we have been building.
