  • Fixed Launchers for The Ultimate Collection

    #1
I have worked on some new launchers for all the games of The Ultimate Collection which fix some registry entries and let command-line parameters (e.g. -ui -win) pass through.

    http://www.commandandconquer.com/for...iledataid=1435

You can also pass a parameter to directly start a game.

    Generals: -game gen
    ZH: -game genep1
    TW: -game cnc3
    KW: -game cnc3ep1
    RA2: -game ra2
    YR: -game ra2ep1
    RA3: -game ra3
    Uprising: -game ra3ep1

If you don't know how to use parameters, please follow these 2 links:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_7208987_add-...-shortcut.html
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIfpnqgh1HY

    Note:
    • To apply the registry fixes the launchers have to be run as administrator.
    • The launchers are currently only compatible to the following locale versions of The Ultimate Collection:
      English, German

    Download

In order to get them working with other languages I need some infos about the Origin IDs of the games. See here:

Besides the game launching, does it freely let through any parameters, or do you still filter them?

From what I've heard when he worked on it it passes them through. The commands mentioned here are just some he added to his launcher.

Yep, I don't filter them. All parameters you specify are passed to the game. I just added the -game parameter that can be used additionally.

When I try to launch it via the RA3 launcher, I get this error.

          EOSErros: System error. Code: 299.
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteprocessMemory request was completed

I updated the launchers. Hopefully it is fixed now.

Not sure if it's the same DL or not, but I'm getting the same error. I made sure it was set to NOT be "readable only."

Origin is installed in my C:/ and the games are in their default spot. I'm using a 64 bit Ultimate Windows Seven OS.

I'm getting it on all the launchers.

Well I thought it was a problem with the executable packer compressing the bitmap recources and 64 bit systems. So I deactivated it for bitmaps and it ran fine for 2 mates, one using Win8 x64 and the other using Win7 x64. Also tested on my laptop Win7 x86 and on my other machine with Win XP and 7, both x86. All works fine, so I can't really tell what's wrong.

                Edit: Updated again.

I'm getting the exact same error still, and so far I've re-downloaded each "updated" package. I'm using Winrar to unzip the files.

I don't really know much about this error, is there any thing you know that I can do to fix it?

Downloaded your 11/25 file and RA3 is working correctly now and I can run it windowed! Fantastic!

Could you make one for Tiberian Sun too? It seems some people have problems in Win8 which can only be solved through Windowed mode, and, like the others, the TS launcher doesn't let through any command line parameters.

For more info on the subject, see

                          @ dhendrix11:
Well, the problem seemed to be that getting process information from 64 bit processes failed on some people's machine. So I rewrote some code parts and now it seems to work.

                          @ Nyerguds:
Yes, I can. Just wanted to be sure that at least the current 4 ones work without any problems before I continue on the other launchers.
btw: Should there be any default parameters for TD/RA? If yes, what exactly are they? I'm not familiar with the PC version of TD/RA.
