  • Gltich: Unlike everyone else that owns RA3, I can not build off different elevations.

    Yeah, that's pretty much it. I see other people do it, but I can't. I've checked and even re-installed it on different computers. Heres an example of what is happening:

    * Someone places their MCV on the middle/upper area of Infinity Isle. They are then allowed to build onto the lower elevations, such as make a navy yard in the sea (even though their MCV is up on the middle/elevated part of the map). *

    I can't do this. Any idea why this is happening or how I could fix such a problem? Thanks.

    is it the soviets that you see doing this?

    im assuming its because they have built a structure on the lower elevation then packed up the mcv and unpacked it on the top elevation. this is because soviet buildings expand on construction radius. while allies building radius is limited to the mcv and its prospectors.

    is this what you mean?

      Ummm, 90% sure that building on different elevations was patched OUT of the game. So the fact that you can't do it is how it's supposed to be. If you see other people doing it, then they are either on older versions of the game, or you're misinterpretting what you're seeing (as hellodean pointed out).

        Building on different elevations

        I can build a naval yard as Allies on the lower elevation when I'm on the ridge in infinity isle, but that's about the only time the game allows me to do it. I'm sure I'm on the latest patch and it seems all the other allies players can also do this, so I guess you must have a bug.

          That's interesting. I will have to admit that I didn't actually try building a naval yard (if I remember correctly, it was a power plant). I'll have to try that and see if it works. The other day I saw a guy build an Allied naval yard exactly as you explained it, so I will probably check later.

          Also, hellodean, I'm almost 100% sure that he made it directly off of the "ridge."

              Game would desync if another patch was used by either player. Its more than likely what Hellodean pointed out.
