  • Red Alert 1 hi-res alpha released

    #1
After RA1 open source code was released to the public, guess what, finally someone had done it, and no, it's not Hyper.

    Updated Jan 24, 2012:
Some other user named Vistha managed to tweak the RA1 hi-res and added in the boxes to the sidebar for the 1024x768 resolution making it seen compared to the C&C1 hi-res version that Nyerguds did. As of now, that user who modified it needs some testers to try it out.

    Thread and download: http://forums.cncnz.com/topic/16477-...esters-needed/
(Note you need RA1 patch 3.03 to be installed in order to run that hi-res. It's still in the experimental stages.)

Months ago, a modder named Hifi had done it all firstly with all the good experimentation for the RA1 hi-res and he even released some media to prove it all. Old file download and media are all available in: http://hifi.iki.fi/ra95-hires/

Edit: The RA1 game engine as OpenRA (which is in http://openra.res0l.net) was thought to be the source code and as "Hifi" mentioned in his website, there's no source code for this hi-res option.

Please increase the size of the sidebar. But by far it looks so damn good!

phoenixcrap: This changes the game's way of drawing its stuff to the screen. It doesn't change how it reads and handles flies. Mods are completely unaffected by the hi res.

Never. Who needs the source? Those bytes in the exe look the same to me either way

Why don't you mod TS in the same manner?
Hyper's not nearly as used to exe modding as you are. :P

I sincerely hope you're joking. Hyper taught me pretty much everything I know.

Also, we agreed that C&C1 is my project, while he does TS and RA1.

Still, after all this time, you can not stop your bullshit rampaid can you?

And no, there was no source code released to the public. It was in fact using my RA1 database that i spent 3 years working on. Just so happens Hifi found something i struggled to find.
