  • C&C1 website on commandandconquer.com

    That's some really bizarre stuff...

The main image there is a Tiberian Sun Orca bomber, and then there's the image used at the side:
    http://www.commandandconquer.com/med...e-join-tan.png

That isn't an official render. It's taken from the Tiberian Dawn mod for C&C3. The original image is this one.
Not that we really mind our renders being used, but they could ask us about it first, or at least credit us :-\

Seriously, what the heck? New site is nice and all, but that's not really a good start. And tbh, neither is the fact the Classics download page is gone. I hope it returns soon.

While EA owns the IP, they don't own the actual render. Two totally different things; EA owns the GDI logo and possibly the likeness of the Orca, but those aren't EA's assets (models, textures, ect ect). Of course they can claim eminent domain based on Intellectual Property. Would be cool for the mod and its team to receive a little bit of recognition though.

Maybe you guys can work out a deal; EA uses your render, and you provide CIRE with some exclusive media for him to display proudly on the web page. A faux-paux turns into a win-win!

I might need some of these too, for my quote pyramid.

Sorry, couldn't resist an epic joke.

I was going to say the site designer just did an image search for "Tiberian Dawn Orca" or something similar, but I did a few searches and didn't find that mod render. Kind of odd that they used that of all things.

And while we're talking about the TD site, I like how it (and the other sites) change the color layout, as well as the "&" symbol in the Command & Conquer logo. I like TD's kind of gunmetal color scheme, as well as TS's sandy color layout. They match both games. I wonder why Renegade is missing from the games list though.

Huh? I just searched for "Tiberian Dawn Orca" in google image, and that render is on the first page, with two other images being that mod's Orca asset (just different views). The render on the first page links to their ModDB.
