  • The NOD RECKONER UGH!!!

    This is really bothering me... I've lost 3 matches today against Nod players where all 3 of them used Reckoners and massed out large armies of them. The third player stealthed an army of reckoners and ta-da. This is so frustrating!!! Why? Because think about it... The Reckoner TOTALLY defies the laws of NOD. Nod is supposed to be full of fast, cheap, low armor units. The reckoner is FULL OF ARMOR, it's ridicolous, it should be a Tier 3 unit with all that armor or just removed from the game. Tiberium Wars was so much more balanced than Kane's Wrath... ugh

    I beleive this is why there are "base defences", you should try them.

        ...ofcourse it is compared to the other Tier 3 Power Units. (Mammoth Tank and Tripod) It has lighter armor then both, cheaper, but the speed is questionable.

          You're funny mocking me but I've been playing CnC since the 1990s... I think I know the mechanics of the game very well. Base defenses are not a good choice as they sink your credits and power fast instead of using it to create your army and regardless, what advantage do base defenses have over
          units?? You clearly don't know what your talking about. Base defenses are not a counter to enemy Reckoners. You don't understand my point. I'm alright with the Reckoner being in the game however the problem is that it's associated with NOD.

              i agree theyre pretty annoying

              its important to keep a group of pitbulls around for scouting/harassment and stopping reckoners or flametanks. Recks arent that well armoured before they deploy.

              if you arent aware btw, get some sonic fences on your buildings if they try to burn down your buildings.
              fences are stupidly op as they literally double your buildings' health for just 500 in addition to negating engis.

              if reckoners are defending, you should either have a massive army that can overwhelm them or you should tech to juggs.

                What? You think you're smart or somthing? I know it's "Nod" it's just I'm emphasizing the name at times by capitalizing it. Please, if you don't have anything kind to say as to contributing to strategies against Reckoners, then don't comment on this thread at all.

                  Yes, I agree with you. Juggs are great against Recks defending. It's when Recks are attacking in SWARMS is when it's annoying and thats the only way a Nod player can beat me. I don't have problems with Flame Tanks. But what's interesting is you mentioned Sonic Fences 0_0 I NEVER thought of that, haha thanks, I mean I have thought of it but I never was aware of the exact statistics of its armor boost. So you say it almost doubles armor to buildings... hmm... very interesting indeed. I should use it more often.

                      Anyways, so what kind of games are you playing that let your opponent mass "SWARMS" of cloaked and loaded Reckoners? That sounds like a decent investment that doesn't seem likely in regular play.

                        What do you mean "what kinda games?" I play 1v1 Versus, 10,000 res. if thats what you mean. I always play as GDI. My usualy strategy is a rush. I try to mass out 5 Rifleman Squads, 4 Rockets, 3 Preds and 3 Pitbulls ASAP and rush. I played this one guy and when I sent my units in he had 4 stealthed reckoners going into my base and I'm like "wtf 0_0". I was surprised on how fast he got the units oh and did I mention, when I scouted him early on in the match, he had 1 reckoner then attacked my base with 1 and mayen i got mad lol. Black Hand and Reckoner are the only 2 NOD units I have a problem with. I'm okay with Scorpion. Black Hand simply has TOO MUCH Armor and same goes with Reckoner.

                          all that armor on the blackhand is kinda useless when you can easily crush them with harvs or preds...

                          and your starting rush is kinda crap... i suggest just starting out with a few pitbulls (2-3) and go scout his base. if you see him build radar soon you know hes going for a reckoner rush or possibly flametank.

                          if you see a reck immediately start making more pitbulls and intercept the reck along the way

                          its also important to scout early... make sure you got all paths scouted with 3-4 rifle squads (train 2 from barracks, get 3rd from selling barracks and watchtower after making engi for spike) so you know if theres something headed your way

                            That sounds like a bad rush tbh... I think 5 APC's + 4Rockets + 1 Engineer would be better, works brilliantly against flame rushes and even reckoners if you add a pitbull for stealth detection.

                              i dont see how you can swarm someone with reckoners. its an incredibly ineffecient use of tiberium. and you_lose is right. enough gaurdian turrets shred reckoners easily.
