  • What CNC4 ideas we can suggest for the next cnc game?

    After reading a couple of threads from the CDA section, I can't help but notice a that some of the ideas are similar to CNC4's system such as this: Flyout menu for completed structures.

    So what do you think is good out there? I want the Superweapon one I also want the shields.

    Oddly enough, I will have to say I'm not so interested to see the healers (like the engineer) healing system especially for the RA and Generals universe. I couldn't come up with a good reason why atm so don't ask and beat me up to a pulp for that I'd be somewhat happy if they do add that. (CNC4 players knows how to put it into good use heheheh )

    The Super Weapon system was probably the only real innotive idea in C&C4. It makes them much more usuable since they're not such a gamble. I'd like to see the idea return in the next C&C.

    I like the Healer's idea. I think it's reminiscent of the Engineers in Renegade, and it makes the game more tactical. Then again, I imagine this system would only work in a fast-paced Tactics game like C&C4, and not in an RTS. (Which, I'm sure most of us are hoping, the next C&C would be).

      SC have had healers since, always, in a similar fashion, and it works perfectly well there.

      And there's multiple hypocrites making suggestion threads that are copy pasted from C&C 4 and everyone loves the ideas. They are just not aware of that the ideas came from C&C 4 as they never played it.

        Extra cosmetic effects on units.

        For example;

        Unit X's (vehicle) health bar
        Green/Okay = no cosmetics needed(normal speed)
        Orange/Yellow = Partial cosmetics, smoke perhaps some pieces falling off
        Red/Critical = Heavy cosmetics such as extra smoke, slower speed and more pieces falling off


        This was in CNC4 and I really liked this effect, even if it played little in terms of gameplay.


        Buildings could use this too, I think this was partially done in CNC3/RA3.

        For infantry, I believe they've only done limping infantry in Generals when they were in the red, so if they can expand on that, that'd be nice.

        edit: another feature I liked was EVA becoming distorted when your crawler was critically damaged, if the next cnc game features an MCV/Command Centre then perhaps this might be carried over.

          You got a point there. Lol and now I think about it, Warcraft 3 has them too in fact. I suppose it would work in C&C.

            Graphic Engine : SAGE, but put circle under selected unit (like the one from C&C3 and Starcraft II) instead of layout as shown in RA3 and C&C4
            Genre : Real-time strategy (not Real-time tactics)
            Gameplay : mineral harvest + base building (included multiple defensive tower) + 3 different factions + unit training (infantry + vehicle + aircraft) + super-weapon
            Minerals : Crystal green (regular value) and crystal blue (higher value)
            Structure :
            + HQ Base + secondary base contruction facility
            + Resources storage facility
            + Defensive tower (multiple function with selective)
            + Tech center (multiple upgrade for infantry, vehicle or aircraft)
            + Superweapon center
            + Infantry barrack
            + Vehicle factory

            + Human (GDI+NOD)
            + Biologically organic life (Scrin)
            + Infested botanic + psionic life (unknown)

                  What i would like to see in the next C&C is the mobile stealth generator but also to cover up units around it in a small radius.I also want to see the mcv's getting turrets for self defense like here.

                      Sorry, cnc4 is the most disappointed game series for me. I just try to skip it. How about the units from each faction is split into three upgradeable classes: offense, defense and support, each with their own specialized focus just like the one from CnC4 ?
                      Example,
                      Offensive Units:
                      Mammoth Tank(GDI), Juggernaut(GDI), Fanatics(NOD), Avatar Warmech(NOD), Annihilator Tripod(Scrin), Planetary Assault Carrier(Scrin)
                      Defensive Units:
                      Zone Troopers(GDI), Orca(GDI), Stealth Tank(NOD), Venom(NOD), Masterminds(Scrin), Stormrider(Scrin)
                      Supportive Units:
                      Harvester(GDI/NOD/Scrin), Engineer(GDI), V35 Ox(GDI), Saboteur(NOD), Carryall(NOD), Assimolator(Scrin), Corrupter(Scrin)

                      Is this fine ?

                          I really wouldnt want to see that in a RTS c&c.if theres going to be base building i dont want to see any units split into classes.

                              Yeah already been done in Firestorm. The GDI "early version crawler" was called the Mobile War Factory and Nod's was called the Fist of Nod. Here is a screen capture from one of the missions where the early version crawler unpacks then you produce units to destroy the harvesters which run away as soon as they saw you. Yes you could have crawlers with base building and harvesting just like in Firestorm, maybe that might happen in the next tib game where a crawler may be able to be available say as a choice option after building the temple of Nod or GDI equivalent.
