I don't see why not, though it will be considered fanfiction (which isn't a bad thing, fanfiction can be very good). I'd be interested to see this, go for it.

Whilst it is obvious that they could get it horribly, horribly wrong, it seems that the dev team is, insofar, doing very well and actually taking advantage of the malleability of the new game/platform....

I concur. Whilst Gangnam Style was entertaining for a little bit, primarily because of it's randomosity (that really should be a word...), this is just a bland music video with similar annoying music....
