Now i will wait Company of heroes 2 and world in conflict 2
Players more often than not don't make a game famous. It's usually the developers, except for in certain cases where mods make a game famous.

If the developers didn't make a good game the game would have never gotten famous.

I don't think they said anything about the single player campaign dlc (if it comes). But for the multiplayer and possibly skirmish you will need an internet connection.

There's no reason to change the whole industry RTS models just because of millions of stupid DOTA kids who play clones of a warcraft 3 mod.
End of Nations doesn't have single player and is a great game by people who have tested it.

Well LoL is going great (look at their tournament cash prizes), so it's possible for Ea to succeed without p2w. But they got to make it good, so that people will buy cometic changes to their units or/and structures and other stuff that's been suggested in other threads.

Wanting to earn money in official turnaments in F2P game which was developed as Full AAA title for years with tens of millions expensive development for free is just unrealistic with EA, or any sensible distributor, don't you think?

If there will be high audience in watching turnaments online then maybe players on top ladder that get access on turnament can get required maps for free if they not own them already, but if they play these maps for first time it somewhat doesn't meet the purpose, same as playing turnaments only on maps available from start as it becomes boring after some time due limited number of factions.
If all maps will be for free for everyone then is chance for earning money covering development greatly limited and hard to obtain.
Getting all maps for free if you are within for example top 100 players is possible too and can be good motivation if someone think that players will want wait for their access long enough.
I don't see you being someone who works at Ea/BioVictory so you can't know how it's going to be layed out. And I'm pretty sure that if a person has time to be in the proffesional league they have money to pay for maps.

Not saying I won't try it out when my PC is capable of playing it but for sure I won't upgrade my Hardware due to that Game as planned before the F2P and only Multiplayer announcement.
Cheers for probably ruining this awesome franchise! After the fail of C&C4 now hitting this Franchise again with such a massive new direction... sad sad
You don't know that this has ended the franchise. No one knows anything about if this game is bad or not.

I don't see what you're trying to bring back. The game was recycled in to what's now called Command and Conquer. And there was never a single player campaign promised, and if there were could anyone please link that.

What you're describing is p2w not f2p. Look at LoL, Dota 2 or Hon. All of them are f2p and not p2w. And just because Ea has made some p2w games before doesn't mean this one is. You haven't even seen all details of the f2p model.

That isn't how f2p works, instead of some people paying 60$ for a game you have ALOT more people who pay form 1$ - 60$ for a game.

Well this is a bit different because it's a f2p. Therefore to keep players (which they need) they need to listen to feedback unlike in other games where they've earned their money immediately.

You know, I just realized that most people when they talk about games they can't articulate what's exactly wrong with it but frequently it's the animations that are the crux of the problem...this is especially relevant to 3rd person and RTS games.
That's your opinion but my opinion is that I LOVE how units can turn on a dime. For example, I've been playing LoL for a long time and wanted to try out Dota 2 and the first thing I noticed was how long time it took to turn around and I thought it was annoying.

Well if it comes to this, the only way to stop it is by making them loose money for this choice and also telling them that they did wrong. But that won't stop them from cancelling the game after it starts making less money so we also need to tell them how to improve their income.

    1. focus on multplayer aspect want made C&C TT so bad. good SP first then multplayer that the bast way.
You don't have to focus on sp to make a good game, I doubt starcraft 2 focused on single player.

    2. Without a good single player they no game!! single player allow for a base for a good multplayer.
Starcraft 2 is another good example, people don't still play it because it's single player but because of it's competetive multiplayer.

    3. FTP model will cost you a lot more. it not really free and it will cause a lot of problem with molding and other thing like gameplay.
Just because EA usually **** up with f2p's doesn't mean they can't learn from their mistakes. And if they're earning money from p2w games then it's our own fault for paying for those games.

    4. some of us like to own thing not just play then.
This I can agree with but is really not neccesary, just because you don't own a game doesn't mean you can't have fun playing it.

    5. how they going to make any money without turning the game into pay to win and it may ending up to £200 or more just to get all the game.
The way to make money on f2p's isn't people paying more for the game, but more people paying less for the game.

    6. what happen when they do not what to keep the game up and running. last with the run you buy you can still play then.
Well that means it's not a succesfull game and not many people play it. And why would you wanna play a bad game?

It's rather funny how gullible people are regarding some dubious marketing words, especially from EA. The aftermath will be a hilarious sight.
I'm not really gullible, I know there's a chance of it being p2w so I'm just looking on the bright side.

Just like how they said they'd make Generals 2, right? Yeah, that's the vaguest of vague statements in the FAQ. Wake me up when the SP DLC is an actual thing, not just a sentence on the internet with nothing to back up its existence.
If they doesn't want their game to fail they will have to listen to community feedback, and there will be alot of people who wants single player.

Why does that bother you then? If they'll make it look crappy on crappy computers they will have settings for that. They've already said that the graphics in the trailer is the highest graphics on it so far.

Actually it did have a story although not a realism warfare story like World In Conflict.
I never said it didn't have a story I just said it wasn't so good.

Well then if they said that there will be customization purchases, that would be just coping petroglyph games & Trion new game End of Nations wouldn't it?

Because in the End of Nations it offers players and fans "customization purchases"
How can you copy something that another game has copied. There are lots of games with cutomization and it's not hard to put a money tag on it.

Well personally after i logged onto YouTube,Facebook this game of EA's isn't going to succeed judging by the reactions and the dislikes on the YouTube video.

And yes EA at least for now they have Angered, betrayed the command & conquer community.
For lying and for not making an announcement that they will be doing this.
Everyone isn't commenting and stuff there are alot of people that are just watching. And the comments are just from the first day, after more news on how it plays they could easily change their minds IF and only if EA makes it a good game.

It's running the Frostbite 2 engine, do you really think it's not graphically good looking? And graphics isn't all that's needed for a good game... zero hour is still fun and it doesn't have good graphics by todays standard.

As Feloidea said, they lied, plain and simple.

EA has taken yet ANOTHER franchise and ruined it.
I thought the little screw up with TT would be a wake up call for EA,nope, free to play!
No single player, always online,micro-transaction filled bullshit.

    I have no hope for the game,an F2P RTS,what a fucking joke.
I remember the enthusiastic topics and discussions had in the community developer section for generals two, guess that's all a waste now.EA has shafted fans big on this one, going WAY over the line.

I don't see how some people are so calm about this, you have been lied to and cheated and you just shrug it off?
Well,I'm gone too I guess then, right as I was coming back too, full of enthusiasm for Generals 2.

And one more thing,**** you EA,stop ruining games.
    Ban me,I don't care,I won't be back here anyways.

What is so FUCKING wrong with f2p? They've said (so far) that there will be customization purchases. They have said nothing about buying units or buying stuff that could make the game pay to win. They probably wouldn't because if this game is going to succeed it NEEDS to not **** off fans and to make sure not to do so they will need to listen to the community.

You don't know how it plays so how can you know that its gameplay isn't returning to it's roots? And even if something returns to its roots doesn't mean it won't evolve a bit.

And for the single player, Generals never had a great story compared to the tiberium universe and they've said that they might be making single player dlc.

started a topic Upgrading Outside of Games.

    Upgrading Outside of Games.

What if you had a tech tree outside the matches were you upgraded your units, for example like the one inside matches in CnC4 but much bigger. it could change small features on how you wanted to play so you could go a heavy tank GLA, a very infantry based USA, ect.

    Concept USA:
    http://i.imgur.com/5OIwa.png

    Tank:

Turret = Machine Turret to shoot infantry.
    Plates = 10% more armor.

    Infantry:

Flash Bang = Same as in CnC generals.
Body Armor = Same as Plates.

    Air:

Air to Air = Enables some airplanes to attack other airplanes.
Flares = 25% Dodge of Air to Air missles.

    Thoughts and Suggestions?
