    It's pretty simple.

    I think with this...

    You just solved this.

    Antimatter wouldn't really leave residue.

    And,

With WMD's, there probably won't be any changing battle conditions. Just death. .

My problem with the lack of Orb strikes isn't that it's missing. My issue is that it wasn't even touched upon in a single line of dialogue. Someone could have just asked, "Why aren't they hitting us from space?" Someone would look at them and shrug. I mean, they had to time to have a soldier think out loud about how the aliens might "be just like us", so it's not like they had a cramped script that wouldn't fit that one thing.

Actually, antimatter reaction produces gamma rays, which are highly damaging to life and can turn into unstable molecules which are dangerous too, besides, even if we dont take in consideration that a massive explosion is still capable to damage the environment, just imagine their antimatter bombs hitting some chemical or nuclear sources, you will get tens of Fukujimas and Exxon Valdez contaminating the water reserves worldwide, finally, the amount of heat generated by these weapons may produce massive water evaporation, effectively denying the resource the aliens are fighting for.

Environmental damage? When did they care? They built their little lightning things in a sewer for goodness sake. Obviously germs, or chemicals are of no concern. Gamma rays damaging things? Damaging what? Everything? Again, when did they care? To think anything that seems bad to us would be bad to them is unfounded speculation. Point is, the story is shallow and nothing more than an excuse to have explosions.

...And I can actually enjoy it like that. Any more talk about obvious holes in this plot is like trying to figure out why Kane is increasingly out of character over the course of C&C. The answer is out of scope of the story as it was presented, and probably lies more in the wills of the producers and such. Like your first point about why there was no overpowered orbital bombardment. That made sense, so we'll just leave it at that. .

It might be fun if the Kerm was to lead an alien invasion.

I will respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.

Meh. The looks are good, but the ratings for this movie are an epic fail. Sure it looks like Modern Warfare meeting the Scrin, but the special effects are a so-so.

The only movie that best describes on "Modern Warfare meeting the Scrin" is Independence Day. That movie was an epic win.

    But they weren't trolling enough.

As for the movie, I really enjoyed it. I didn't expect anything extraordinary in terms of story or narrative, and I got what I wanted: A awesome-looking epic sci-fi action ride. And I was really not expecting a reasonable script (not great, but not bad either) with not-so-cliched dialogue. Even the acting was nice.

But what really made this movie for me a nerdgasm was the tactics, and I'm not much about aliens (in fact, I find them using human-like tactics to be a bit odd and unprobable, but I can go with this, since this is possible. Just very, very unlikely), but about human army. I mean.. I've seen tons of sci-fi action movies and in most of them, the military sucked hard. Not only they were getting their *** kicked (and the war was won by civilians or kids or magic or luck or last man standing or anything), but the way the usually fought was riddiculus.. *Cough* Starship Troopers *Cough*. But here, I really enjoyed the realistic and worthy portayal of modern warfare. With aliens. Which doubles the amount of awesome.
