Listen up, Commanders! We are pleased to announce that next weekend, Sunday April 17 2011, we will be hosting a traditional 1-vs.-1 single-elimination tournament! To sign up, continue reading and follow the instructions found below.
Date and time
Sunday, April 17 2011, 14:00 GMT
It is your own responsibility to make sure you show up at the correct time and date. You will not be reminded individually by staff or by a referee. The entire tournament will be finished within an estimated 3-4 hours, so please make sure to clear your schedule in advance.
How does the tournament system work?
The check in will start at 13:30 GMT (30 minutes before the tournament start).
To check in for the tournament, you need to go to the tournament page, push sign up and type the name you are going to use in this tournament. Please remember that you cannot check in in advance! The brackets will be created at 14:00 GMT. If you have signed up but haven't checked in, you will be excluded from the tournament!
Let's repeat this to be sure:
You must be checked in to participate in the tournament!
The tournament will be single-elimination best-of-three till semi-finals; the final is best-of-five.
Small Town USA
Map selection takes place by player agreement for the first match of a round, if players can not agree, then map elimination takes place. Second and possible third game are loser's choice, they may pick any official 1v1 map, or stick to the map pool.
Rules and Formalities
Seeding will be done through random assignment after registration, once all players have signed up.
No using of ungarrisoned Mastermind/Prodigy to teleport Hexapod. You are free to teleport Hexapod if you garrison Mastermind or Prodigy in it.
To keep counterpicking in minimum, you may contact a referee and request for a blind pick.
Match Result Reporting
After the result of each match is clear, it is the responsibility of the loser to report the result by uploading the replay to the tournament system. As a precaution, please save all replays, even if you are the winner. If the loser fails to upload the replays to the tournament system, you need to upload the replay(s) to the specified result thread. A referee will then confirm the results and add the information in to the tournament system. Please save your replay(s) in case there is a dispute about the result! Once there are only four players remaining, matches will be refereed.
Out-of-Sync (OOS) Errors
In case of a desync or out-of-sync error, the following policy applies: You must save the replay, and a tournament staff member will review the replay. If there is a clear winner, that player will advance. If not, the match will be replayed. The staff member's decision is final and non-negotiable, and failure to comply with the decision may jeopardize your eligibility for future tournaments. Repeated OOS errors in relation to a particular player may indicate abuse. Should this occur, the player in question may be disqualified and banned from future tournaments.
All reports and issues will be resolved by the tournament manager and the referees. Cheating and intentional disconnecting will result in exclusion from the tournament and a ban from future tournaments hosted by GameReplays.org. Poor sportsmanship may also result in disqualification from the tournament.
Players that do not show up within 15 minutes of their allocated match time will be disqualified. Players are expected to continue playing until eliminated or until the end of the tournament is reached. Failure to play rounds in an expedient manner may result in disqualification.
If you accept the above rules and wish to participate in this tournament, please post a comment in the sign up topic. Do not post your sign-up request in the tournament discussion thread.
Good luck, Commanders!
