if I didn't have a manufacturers fault on my laptop(multiple_irp__requests BSOD), I would use it until bulldozer comes out... but the simple fact is that I need a video editing pc for my current job, and my laptop is only reliable for half hour stretches before the faulty acer drivers make my system go kaput
You bought an Acer, what did you expect?

I know a few people who have had bad luck with Acer...so reading that doesn't surprise me one bit.

yeah, one night I was drunk and thought I bought an ASUS, when it arrived, it was an ACWER, and I checked my receipt to see if it was a dodgy sale, but I paid for ACER instead... The frustrating thing is that the problem could be easily fixed, as it is an old HP problem that was discovered in 2006 and resolved by microsoft recommending a driver update

why the 50? I am on a bit of a tight budget, as you can see: I am already spending about 80% of the money I have earned over 15 straight days of work... im not gonna get that again until next year... If I can land a full time job, then the videocard will be the next thing upgraded, but until then, I am gonna have to settle on that card... it will do the job at keeping me playing happily at a minimum of 50fps for all the games I play at a resolution of 1440X900(my monitor's max resolution)

6950 can definitely handle anything maxed out at 1440x900
and the top-end stuff is NEVER good value, the next product down is usually 90% of the performance with 50% of the price
Yeah the US is getting pwned haha...

I saw that with my processor. the price difference between a higher stock clock core and the one I chose is an extra $70 for 300MHz. I might as well just overclock it to that performance. I have a water cooling kit, 4 fans in my new case, and its a black edition Phenom II. Also have a look at page 1 again: I made a few tweaks, but in addition to that- I removed the hard drive, and added a loyalty card to prevent a 3% surcharge on my in store credit card payment, and hopefully get further discounts on that purchase
