    Quick question related to Steam

The library in Steam has these backgrounds that accompany each game, and I was wondering if anyone knew where they're stored. I know where screenshots go, but I haven't found the default backgrounds.

I assume it would be in the graphics section of the Steam menu system, beyond that i have no idea.

It isn't stored, that info is recieved via the browser from the central server. It is only a temp storage till the next image, don't think you can find it, atleast not in a way you can use it.

Yeah, I think they're stored on the computer in some temp folder too, but I also think they're usable for just a few reasons.

First and strongest, is that there's a thread on the Steam forums where someone seemed to have found where they're stored. He even posted them up. But no one has answered my request on the Steam forums, for whatever reason.

Second is that CCleaner has this option for Steam, and using it clears all of the backgrounds, forcing Steam to download them again. This ties into the third thing.

When selecting a game in the library for the first time, there is indeed a delay to download the background. Thing is, even after restarting the computer, those backgrounds show up pretty much instantaneously every time afterwards, so they must be cached somewhere...

Thanks for the replies so far guys. So, does anyone know where the cache is?

it might be a hidden folder or somewhere deep in the storage.

Omg, a hidden folder. Lol, I forgot about those. I'll show those and look again right now.

    EDIT: No luck.

steam is assuming control of your game's pictures
