Completely New Series, Reboot or Sequel?

I'm really hoping that we'll see a completely unique new series come out of this because then we get the benefit of a new (and hopefully awesome) new storyline and setting for a story and also an existing story (like Generals) can't be killed off by a bad game if it does turn on that way.

Anyway, what do you think's most likely?

    Generals 2 most likely.

I'd quite like a Generals 2 but again I'm worried that if it goes wrong it will kill off the Generals series, although at this stage if another C&C game is crap than the whole C&C franchise is probably finished.

You know what might be cool? Since we're just postulating and all... would be an expansion for one of their latest games. I think it would be neat and might totally be the reboot to the system that's already in place. I know they're working on a new engine right now too... but why couldn't they continue to improve/addon to the things they already have? It's just a thought...

I really hope it's something new. While I think Generals was a good game as far as gameplay was concerned, I can't really see the need for a sequel with the storyline we were given. Generals is a spin-off to me, not something with a rich universe.

Tiberium and Red Alert universe should be given a rest after the disappointing finale of the first one and.. well, Red Alert doesn't really have a decent canon anymore and Soviets vs Allies became a bit old now.

Another expansion for Red Alert 3 might be good but I'm hoping they'll just forget the whole mess of C&C 4 and never, ever mention it again, plus I don't know how many people would buy an expansion to a poor game.

If they rebooted C&C 4 completely they'd probably have to give it a new name, new cast and various new marketing techniques so people know the difference in the shops which has got to all be expensive, but if they do it will it could be a really cool way to salvage the series.

Yeah, I kinda like to see the end of the RA3 story, but I doubt it will happen.

I just hope they nuke C&C4 into oblivion or re-title it C&C Arena/Sole Survivor 2 first.

Afterwards, I don't care what they do as long as they give us a worthy C&C title.
