As many options as possible for custom games.

    Subject:
As many options as possible for custom games.

    Description:
Its a fact, people dont always like the 'official' rules in games. So why limit the custom options to random crates and initial funds? What i'd like to see is as many options as possible in the custom games lobby. Things ranging from 'Super Weapons: ON-OFF' , 'Pop Cap: ON-OFF-NUMBER =...' 'Disable Unit Type =...' to the average amount of ore in mines or/and Tiberium growth rate.

    Positive Effect:
Will allow people to turn off and change things they dont like about the game and also tweak rules to offer different gameplay experiences.

    Negative Effect:
    Honestly, none. Seriously.

The negative effects are that it will confuse newcomers that don't pay attention. They win one game with ease and then try the same thing in another game but find themselves in a totally different game.

But still I agree with your point.

There are times where I have not looked at the custom option in c&C4, and was anoyed when the game did not end at 2500 VP.

Won't happen if it's done the correct way.

This is how I believe it should be:

Rules of the matches can be changed, but by doing so you lose the ability to have the match ranked (any customized game is unranked). Each custom game would be considered its own gametype. Players should be able to save custom gametypes and give them names. The gametype's name should be displayed in the lobby's name. If a player sees the name of the gametype and doesn't recognize it, they will be compelled to read over the settings set by the host.

All the rules and options of a match must be displayed in the main window of the game lobby for all players to see WITHOUT them having to click to a new tab or window. They should be able to glance over to one side of the screen and read the settings of the game. Not only that, but the "Ready" button should also ask players to look over the rules before saying they are ready.

You have to make the settings as obvious as possible other wise people will forget to check them and end up playing a match they didn't mean to play (and then leaving halfway through).

Anyone else who then still fails to understand the concept of a custom gametype will just have to get over their ignorance and learn from their mistake. Ranked matches will all have the same rules. Custom matches wont be ranked... so quitting them because they thought they were something else wont have any bad effects on the ladder.
