Has anyone here heard of Heroes of Newerth? This game can be a prime example of how a fps+rts can function. A promoted "general" will be appointed at game start and he will lead the team in base construction and strategies. Also will allow the general to issue commands and suggestions to combat in defense and offense. All other players will be given control of any unit they choose. It can have a slash of some unique game play like renegade where you could enter a specific building and "train" your self into a new unit, but also have the option of being a default unit. Players other than the general will have a shared currency option where the units in game will get a percentage of the amount of money the general earns for the team and also what ever the player can manage to generate where be collecting resources or completing objectives or destroying the enemy. The possibles can be endless really. Having access to a hybrid idea like this is awesome because the amount of content and direction that can be taken is quite limitless. One can have a spash of rts style and have a majority of it to be fps or it can be a splash of fps while its a majority rts. These are all examples. In the end if a new, improved hybrid of C&C Renegade and C&C Tiberium Sun could be managed i feel it could be quite fun. P.S For what ever game is released, im suggesting an option to allow the interface to be old-school like RA2 and Dune 2000. The layout of new RTS are just to confusing and overwhelming, and since RTS games are overwhelming as is. I think this option would be great for us "old-school" players. Thanks.
