Post Generals - Here and Now

    Subject:*
    C&C 5: Generals - Here and Now

    Description:*
Generals - Here and Now is my idea for the next C&C game. The storyline will include recent events for instance rescueing people from Libia, preventing terrorist attacks from the revengefull Al'Qaeda (which is offcourse called the GLA ingame), taking controll over the case that Iran is trying to hack and steal intelligence about nuclear facilities from the IAEA, etcetera.*
    The multiplayer will support coop.*
There needs to be a load of variaty in maps, and coop missions. Multiplayer PVP and coop will grant experience which results in unluckable titles (going from private to general) and other stuff which will not give you an advantage in matches.
    Also steam achievements will be*appreciated.

    Positive Effect:*
That this will not be a wanna-be StarCraft again. C&C has never got close to that title. I think there is (still) a great community behind the old but very good Generals title. Even now, 8 years after the release of the game people are working on mods and updates for the game. There will be a lot of customers comming your way after releasing this game.

    Negative Effect:*
Both the singleplayer and the multiplayer will require a lot of research and development. The storyline must be detailed, people need to relate it to the real word. The multiplayer, as allways, must be perfectly balanced which takes a lot of time.

    Media: *
I thing this is a nice example of how much effort your community is spending on C&C Generals:

PS: In the 'Thread Template' thread it is called BBCODE, not PHP.*

Wow, I used the "here and now" phrase and recommended the Shockwave mod as a reference point before reading this...seems you and I are pretty much spot on! My comments are in the "Return to the Basics" thread if you're interested. One thing I read about was the potential for the game developers to appear to have favoritism toward one or the other real-world factions (GLA can be seen as pejorative to people of Middle Eastern descent). This could be very interesting, but I'd hope that they could put it in a politically-neutral light so as not to offend anyone from different cultures. Emphasizing coop gameplay would be super cool, having multiple people get online or choose a few AI to help you take down a large enemy force. Shockwave is a beast of a mod, it feels like what Zero Hour should have looked like if it was put through a more extensive development process.
