    I think Westwood actually intended for Nod to use a modified version of the M2 Bradley, hence the mention in the manual, "Previously believed only to be a smaller terrorist operations, a recent scandal involving United States defense contractors confirms that the Brotherhood is well-equipped and supports significant land, sea, and air military operations" (the manual can be found here; the quote is from page 2).
