Kane's Wrath Tip of the Week #105 - The Armory

Here's a brief sample of our latest strategy tip for Kane's Wrath. The entire article can be read at GameReplays.org.

This Tip of the Week is about one of the most under-rated and under-used buildings in Kane's Wrath: The Armory. This GDI structure is barely ever seen in high-level play, but if used properly it can easily turn the tide of battle.

The Armory. Unfortunately cannot be built by Steel Talons.
    Cost: 1000
    Build Time: 10 sec
    Prerequisites: Barracks
    Power Usage: 7

The Armory is a small building that allows the healing of wounded infantry and the replacement of killed squad members. It also provides three researchable upgrades, the "Airborne" support power, and it enables the training of Sniper Teams and the feared GDI Commando. The Armory is only available to vanilla GDI and ZOCOM, since due to their preference of mechanical units the Steel Talons do not have access to the Armory, to its upgrades, the support power or to advanced infantry.

    It's very nice Vivo!

Some from gr.org (maybe you / Methuselah) should always make topics like this. I mean, for example tip of the week 106 from gr.org etc. Because, as I said, it's really nice to read!

I also think that many players can learn from it.

Nice article. I usually used the armory, but not really the support powers that it gave. I'd usually just get it for the upgrades.

I really like the fact you could refill your squads there, that's a feature I wish Nod and scrin had too, it was a bit lame to have an heroic squad of one member.
Live well. It is the greatest revenge... And be the salt and light of Earth.

Tbh I never really used armory to heal units or never seeen anybody doing it. Is it worth it?

I build it for upgrades. I do composite armor for rocket spam and emp granades for countering epic. After that I usually sell it unless snipers are needed.

Never used it properly because they couldn't seem to fix the bug it had, in both C&C 3 and KW the way-point from the Armory don't work. Also it had the bug that each time you healed a squad the walls disappeared, but they fixed that with a later patch.

And it's kind of rare you have many damaged infantry units in your own base instead of the battlefield, so squads broached back home for healing I can think of would be the Commando and maybe Zone Troopers, basic infantry is faster to just re-train.

It could be better if armory have some kind of healing radius, instead of need for getting through every single unit. Although im not sure how this could influence faction balance.
