You should not have any lagging. I play on game on a Pentium 4 2.8 ghz and it run too quickly on full speed. The problem may do to with the amount of other software you are running at the same time and the amount of memory you have in you system. the more building and units you make the more memory that is used up. it you low on memory then the OS would start using the hard drive for memory. The using memory from the hard drive would be slow.

Also if the game been played for a long time without the computer been restart. That could be they are memory leak that using up all the computer memory.

I hope it help but I cannot think of then else that would cause this problem for you.

Ram? old games don't require good Cpu or graphics card make sure you have enough ram.
Close all the unnecessary back ground applications and if that doesn't work try to run it in comp ability mode.

It's not related to PC specs; if anything, it's because current PCs are too fast.

Try fiddling with the hardware options in rasetup.exe... that usually helps.

I cannot see that the PC is too fast that could make lags. I have played the game with a lot of high PC specs without any lag.

The game can go too fast and can be change in the optional. There no needed to change any files.

I played on a 3.2 Pentium 4 with HT and on a Core 2 2.4 GHz with 4 gb of ram. It work wall on both computers.
