The only sensible advantages of TW are tiberian universum and graphics.
YR has all the rest (gameplay, fun, balance, unit desgins, voice acting, plot).

I personally only played TW for about a year and a half. That was at the point that I started to get bored of it and also its expansion. They just had limited gameplay and that doesn't excite me as much as it used to. But with YR I played it every day after school back when I was younger and looked forward to it.
