    CABAL=Skynet??????????

    We all know that CABAL is a Nod AI that has gone rogue, tried to rule the world, and took control of Nod's cyborg units. Skynet on the other hand is also an AI that has gone rogue, took control of all the world's robotic weapons but ruled the world successfully. Coincidence????

    It is possible Skynet was the inspiration to CABAL or it could be the weird electrical being from the movie Virus wich seems human kind as a Virus and wants to use us for "spare parts" and creates cyborgs of us or a combo of both or maybe not.

    More or less likely the inspiration for CABAL.
    Skynet - A military defence developed to control its arsenal and software/hardware. All of that went rouge and builds cyborgs.
    CABAL - A computer assisted AI developed for nod - it went rouge and decide to build an army of cyborgs

    I know I basically said what the OP said but this is my P.O.V

    I do notice a similarity, but it's not really the same. Unlike Skynet, Cabal is not actually 100% machine, hence his name. Cabal is actually augmented with human brains to [rovide Cabal with the "human factor."

    I think that Skynet inspired the concept of CABAL but the developers decided to alter it a little by making him part human with the network of brains that he used.

    And is just me or is TS ripping off a lot of movies from the 70/80's. CABAL's similarity to Skynet (Terminator Series). Wolverine/Titan/Mammoth Mk. II (Star Wars) and maybe few more of that I can't think of at the moment.

    pretty much yeah, but hell, today were still ripping of from old stuff, we lost our originality long ago....

    My quote:
    'Meh, I don't really care anymore about the new games direction, with many loads of hours(make that years actually) on Tib Sun, YR, Generals, CnC3, and RA3, plus all the mods they come with, another game with the same old formula is rather redundant IMO. '

    That's really just the template for all "super computer goes rogue" stories that fits both, they differ quite a lot in the details of the story.

    Anyways, Skynet isn't really playing in the same league as CABAL, the equivalent to Skynet is actually the GDI EVA system which fits the bill more as it is a military analytic AI (there are reasons why they let it do only administrative jobs).
    CABAL is not an artificial intelligence, it takes its intelligence from natural sources (the biological component, i.e. Human BRAINZZZ) and uses its artificial resources (data processing and storage, communication) to enhance these processes. A better description would be a composite intelligence.
    This is also reflected in its motivations and actions. For an AI like Skynet, humans were primarily a threat and secondarily a workforce; his Cyborgs were human on the outside but machine on the inside.
    In contrast, CABAL saw humanity primarily as natural resources for his intelligence component, as was reflected by his use of civilians as resources for cyborgification. His Cyborgs were machine on the outside but human on the inside, using the biological components as control and intelligence units.
