    Any Ideas For New GDI Build Mechanic?

    To start I have to say I'm trying to brainstorm for Tiberium Secrets mod, so If you post, be aware.

    So ya, I'm struggling to come up with a Good new one for GDI.

    Maybe they should just be like in cc3?

    Only restriction is they can't use dozers.

    Anyone got any ideas beyond the traditional build system,?

    So you still are using the 3 original factions from C&C 3, and adding the 3 additional ones you came up with?

    Well I know that ASI uses that 'Dozer mechanic (which I'm still very interested in for a personal mod of mine), but what are the other mechanics you have planned for the other factions (Colony, Dream 51, ect)? Just to be able to narrow down something unique.

    Give any unit ProductionUpdateInfo, ProductionUpdate with the type the other objects have, give them a commandset like the CYs, and have it have a ProjectedBuildabilityInfo. That is all they did.

    Weedy, Yes, your correct, we will use cc3 factions of GDI Nod and Scrin, and add the New factions, and do some changes to the original factions to make them comparable.


    I Can't tell you what the other build mechanics are yet, sorry, I can only tell you that we want them to be diverse factions all the way down to build mechanics.

    hmmm

    I guess I can tell you we plan to do the Scrin based on a fuel mechanic.... But that's all.

    Just think of GDI, and what they represent.

    I can tell you that GDI is focusing more on Tiberium ablation then space technology, it's hard pressed to get funding for space when Tiberium is at your door step.

    we kinda wanted people to figure it out them selves.....just so.....

    Well if I was to imagine a build system for GDI, I would want to show their reliance to space technology (satellites, the GST, drop pods ect.) and also emphasize their global supremacy as the leading world power (having a large arsenal), but not take away from their "tried and true" method of using reliable tech that they know works.

    I will say that the build mechanic for factions are different but I will give hints to what they are:
    Colony-A mechanic that is new to RTS gaming (there might be the same out there somewhere I'm not sure)
    Dream Army- Something to do with space

    NOD- is similar to something in TS with subterranean vehicles

    Scrin- GeneralJist explained above

    GDI is going away with space a little bit in our timeline (after NOD destroyed the Philadelphia), though they are heavy allies with Dream Army and they work together on space tech. It's a long story that we came up with. XD

    Hard to say.. perhaps a number of built things (6infantry) next tier up offered if you choose to sell 5 of them .. and so on and so forth for each better unit available.
    Of course anything you can thinkup will probably be better then this or you could just use some of the build methodsfrom the rsa mod using its source code..
