Logitech MX518 mouse problem

This mouse is my second one, and I've had it since July '11. It has a guarantee (or is it warranty) of 3 years, so I could go back to the store and get a new one, I prefer trying to fix this first.

Anyways, the problem started about a week ago. Every once in a while, the cursor stops moving, and the mouse isn't responding to anything. It lasts for some seconds, and as soon as the mouse starts to work again, the computer does the sound of something plugged in or out. It's very irritating when it happens during playing BF3.

I've checked that the mouse is well plugged into the computer.

Hope that helps somewhat, might just be easier to get it replaced though.
