Today gameinformer posted a screenshot of a new bioware titel. See here:

We ( www.united-forum.de ) do not think that is bioware at all. We think, hope, beg for it to be generals 2. I mean, come on, thats GLA on that artwork, right? Pretty please?

Every single gaming news site on the planet says it's a new bioware franchise.

United-forum.de says it's not a new bioware franchise.

Firstly, how do you know they will announce it on December 10th? I don't recall any information being leaked; otherwise, we would have heard of it before now.
And secondly, you may be saying that you hope it is not a BioWare game. But, with the way you posted it, you seem to be showing an act of defiance to the fact that it is (or probably is) a BioWare game, and that you're trying to recruit us to your cause.

Because it's mentioned in the news articles, and if it's in the articles then it's true.
Unless if the articles say it's a Bioware game, then they're lying, obviously.

Sorry, I thought that he meant the announcement date for the new C&C game, not the BioWare game.

Because there's tanks, an overhead view and it appears to be modern warfare. So, yeah, any generic modern warfare game pretty much looks like Generals. They want a Generals 2, but their reaction to this shows that Generals wasn't unique and was in fact, just another run-of-the-mill generic modern warfare game.

Which begs the question, why do people like generic modern warfare games with no cohesive or original and thought-out storyline? That's what I hate so much about today's gamers. They'll eat up a rehash of the same multiplayer modern warfare games every year...Gah.

At least Sci-fi & fantasy are original. (despite the fact I don't like fantasy that much, personally)

It's the Game Informer image first off, with the two technicals (and one of the gunners flying off in Generals fashion). The video footage also looks like it could be a Generals game because it looks more modern era. Sure, the tank looks a little futuristic, but the environment / opposing vehicles do not.

Story-wise, design-wise, originality-wise, it all fell flat. I don't want a Multiplayer C&C with lame, one-dimensional story, un-immersive and uninteresting plot tacked-on just for the sake of having a campaign, like Battlefield 3. (Whereas the story wasn't bad there, it was short and it did feel like it was there just as an excuse to have some sort of SP experience) Especially if this is supposedly an AAA-quality C&C game. Generals was NOT AAA-quality. (Especially not ZH) Red Alert 3, Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun and Tiberium Wars were, however.

So why bother using everything from Generals, when all they need is the gameplay formula? Take the story formula from Tiberian Sun or Tiberium Wars, the gameplay from Generals, and create an original art style/design.
Generals and Zero Hour obviously had a rushed campaign, the main focus seemed to be on multiplayer. Those shortfalls were corrected a lot with BFME1 and BFME2, then later C&C3, and Red Alert 3. I think EA learned well enough to not skimp on C&C games, even if it involves something like Generals (which had a forgettable story).

Regardless, just because Generals is more of a modern day game doesn't mean that a follow up couldn't be fun, or have an engaging story. This is assuming it even has a story, for all we know it could be a pure multiplayer-only game.

Generals fans loved Generals for the multiplayer hands down. I'm definitely one of those people. I was a first run multiplayer tester, and fell in love with Generals from the very first multiplayer game I played. I can't think of another C&C title that has ever had multiplayer that was as fun or as diverse as that which which was seen in Generals & Zero Hour. The tunnel system, generals powers, napalm storms, over the top superweapons, etc. It was amazing.

So for me, a new Generals game would be the best case scenario.
