2X 2TB is more than enough these days. however TB HDDs only work on SATA, not IDE

I no longer use disk cleanup due to the large hard drives and backup ones I have in my three primary PCs.

as I said, with the increased drive sizes, disk cleanup is now an obsolete tool

Disc clean up doesn't really speed up your system much, only by few percents.
It depends how much free space you have on you harddrive.

I personally use Advanced System Care, it cleans your registry, defrags harddrives, basically every optimization.
I run it once a month.

or if you know a thing about windows and have windows 7 professional and above, it comes with all the tools you need and you can schedule it yourself.

maybe with the exception of the registry, but microsoft made a few optimisations that make registry cleaners have bugger all effect

I rarely do disk cleanup, maybe once a year or so.
